No worries. That's what I went with (non chamfered).

So what other TW mods/upgrades are you planning on?

Check out my build thread - Cabo Wabos build. A member commented to me today - "G damn, you're spending some money on that truck." I bought my truck just a few weeks ago and I've only been a member for that long. I added up the numbers on the thread...

You still road race? The s2k? My cousin prepped an AP2 back in the day, it was amazing. Quickest car I've been in as a passenger.

I don’t man. Probably in the future if I have room for another car. S2k went to my other brother in law.

    Hey synergy10,
Any chance you still have the Cruise control unit and if so, would you consider selling it?

    Thanks

It's either in storage or I may have tossed it. If I come across it some time soon, I'll let you know.

I feel like I've been neglecting the truck (as far as upgrades go, maintenance is on point) since purchasing a 89 Honda CRX Si last year. It was the first car I paid for all by myself back in the late 90's/early 00's, so definitely chasing nostalgia here. It was my only car up until around 2009. Ended up buying and selling two more crx's that needed tons of work. Ultimately it was best for me to find one in running condition (with working ac) that didn't need much more than normal maintenance.

Enough of that and onto the Tacoma updates...

Sold the bedslide and softopper a little over a month ago. Now I was left with a bedrack and instead of selling it right away I decided to give the whole rtt thing a try:

    IMG_5498(1).jpg

After my first camping trip with this setup I realized I wanted a taller bedrack and covered storage. My plan was to go with a camper shell and a custom rack that goes around it for the rtt. During my search a Wildernest camper popped up. The seller happened to live down the road from me. Went to look at it the following weekend and ended up buying it:

    2F368BC9-9245-4F2D-B40D-CAAB586DB4F4.jpg

Overall, I think it's in decent shape and is usable as is (needs new tent poles, some parts of the tent fabric is stained). My truck's paint isn't in the best shape so other than a new seal and stainless hinges, I don't think I'm going to mess with the exterior of the Wildernest much. It'll have to wait till I decide if I want to paint the truck or not.

Any luck finding a cc unit? If not I'm pretty sure I still have mine sitting around somewhere. I had another member ask about my extra pop and lock...I just haven't had any time to really go through my storage unit.

Nothing wrong with a white shell on a different color truck. Think 1st gen 4Runner, first few years only came with a white top. Makes it look old school in my opinion.

Nice score! I’m jealous, they never pop up on the east coast.

Yeah, I agree. Just the design of the wildernest screams old school. Maybe I should look into a 95-97 front end conversion.

If I ever do paint the truck, I don’t know if I’d color match the shell or leave it white. I’m also open to a different accent color altogether. That’s way down the road from now though.

Thanks! Even being on the west coast I feel lucky to have one. They seem to get scooped up quick.

No, No luck yet... I don't want one of those universal kits. If you find it I will be interested. Thanks

PS: The WilderNest topper is SWEET!

The time has come for me to part ways with my Tacoma.

Going to get an ad together along with the most current pics soon and will update this thread then.

For now you can check the first post for a mods list.

Sup fellas! hate to do it but it’ll be for the best at this time.

Having to commute to work full time soon. Also in need of easier access to the cab area (a little more room would help as well). These among other reasons have contributed to my decision to sell.

I have a few cars/trucks in mind but I need to figure out what’ll work best for my current situation.

If for some reason I strike a deal where I can keep the TE’s, I’ll let you know. Although I might use them on my next rig?
