Was this a cold air kit, or just a replacement filter?

I would recheck everything, particularly the direction the mass air flow sensor is pointing.

I'd still disconnect/reconnect the battery to let the ecu relearn it's newfound airflow. Might not be necessary, but it might be.

I had constant issues with a trd pre oiled k&n air filter when i installed one on my 4.7 tundra. It kept fouling the mass air sensor. I'd have to remove it to clean the k&n oil filter residue from it. Finally had enough, and put a wix paper filter back in. Never another problem.

Same thing happened to me several years back with my first gen Raptor. Was so excited after installing my S&B intake but the thing would stop running about a second after starting the truck.

Just as I was dejectedly walking back into the house a lightbulb came on and I flipped the sensor, started the truck, danced about as well as Elaine Benes, and hoped nobody saw any of that.

Oddly enough, I've never had fouling issues on my maf with oiled filters. I'm about due for a good filter cleaning though....

Yep, yet it was stated in my owners manual that the TRD K&N air filter was an option that could be used. This air filter likely came oiled to much. I probably could of bought the cleaning, and re-oiling kit to fix the issue, but ended up buying a cheaper paper filter. What i've learned over the years is to replace stuff with what came in the vehicle, after all the manufacture did the research already what works best.
