I agree with wanting to install lights up in the tent. I assume those are Amazon style lights and saw similar lights. Are they bright enough?. I want them to run off a battery pack also. Otherwise need to drill a hole through the platform. I was hunting Amazon today looking at lights trying to figure out a good solution. How are they attached?

They are definitely bright enough. We actually picked them up at the Overland Expo like 5 years ago maybe. Company called Revel Gear. Since then they have popped up everywhere, Amazon, saw some battery powered ones at Harbor Freight. Etc. Since they are basic copper wire string lights, the wire itself is your mounting solution. I used to put them up and take them down Everytime we camped.. because I would just unroll them and hang them up along the tent, then out to a nearby tree, around our cooking area etc. They are the most useful light source I've ever used. We absolutely love them. They are so small and unobtrusive you can hang them and pass the through anywhere.

Nice! I'm also using some Revel string lights currently for my setup. I'm surprised how durable and bright they are, but I just wish we could change colors. I need to get another one for the upper tent area as it's little too dark up there.

Working on our interior build. This is a v1 to see what we like before getting into some 8020. We are by no means good with wood working, I’m a Software Engineer so I’m learning as we go but it’s been fun so far! Next up is a counter for the right side of the bed! And some cushions!

@RangeRick those are the Hardkorr, Roaming Lost lights from GTF Overland. I was emailing Curt yesterday about a new antenna mount I had ordered and asked about those lights since I haven't seen them on the website. They are on back order and GTFO has removed the link from their website. once in, GTFO will upload the lights to their website again.

Thanks, that explains why I didn't see them on the website. Looks like a great solution.

Here’s what I use for light on top in the tent. I hang it on one of the loops on the top vent. It’s a Ready Light I got free from Free Spirit Recreation with my RTT when I was an ambassador for them years ago lol!

Highly recommend this guy for the tent area. Don't have to worry about wires and its not like its on all the time so it will last a while. It lights up the whole tent area pretty well and has different temps of light. Been working great for me. I dont have a photo to share besides this one where you can kinda see it light up the tent area.

FYI for you and others... The pink foam insulation there contains a fire retardant (bromide I think) that you don't want to get in your lungs, so when you're cutting it, be sure to be wearing a good N95 mask.

Ryan, how long is the charging cable and how do you attach in the tent; hang if from one of the loops at a vent? Thx

Awesome, I've been looking for a light to use up top, preferably battery powered so I don't have to deal with running wiring up in the wedge. Just ordered.

Hadn't seen much I liked the look of yet. Thanks for the recco!

SP #000141 is in Canada! I drove down to Portland from Saskatoon SK Canada leaving November 25th for my install on November 29th. Back home early am December 1st. Very lucky we had great weather for this time of year.

Lots of work and planning to do over the winter wrt lights, water system and possible Propex installation. Already have a drawer/platform and diy LiFePo battery ready to put back in.

Super clean install. Could you provide any tips on how you made that mounting plate for the switch? Is it 3D printed?

How much clearance is needed to prevent contact due to bed flexion? I have a 2nd Gen DC long bed. I removed about 3/8” under the front extrusion last night but, after seeing how much people have cut down their Prinsu racks am thinking this won’t be enough.

    Cheers,

    Murray

@Kommander Depends on what bedrails you're running on the 2nd gen. Stock? if so.. I took it down to the horizontal slots. I cant remember the exact measurement off the top of my head. I can get measurements later today.
