Doubtful since the aux input is a valid audio source.

Shame it triggers it when only video is supplied, though.

This joying head unit annoys the piss outta me. It randomly crashes and has to reboot itself, and it happens frequently enough that at some point I'm going to have to get rid of it. I know Android isn't perfect, my tv is a Sony Bravia running android TV and it occasionally crashes too, but not as frequently as this head unit does. I've got the 11.6 double din and I would not buy this thing again. I don't get how I seem to be the only one with this issue?

The day I can figure out how to get steering wheel controls working with a tablet I will be a happy man. I've never understood why car head units are always 10 years behind phones and tablets on performance. Every head unit I've ever seen, in any car (including teslas and the like) have the laggiest UI's, and this joying is no different. Scrolling around, especially on a map app is the jankiest thing and it makes no sense. We have proper touchscreens. Why can't someone build a head unit with a halfway decent CPU and touchscreen? Take any android tablet or apple Ipad and the experience is 10x smoother than this joying.

Sorry this turned into a rant. It's just annoying how lackluster these units are because I know they can be so much better.

Try doing a full reset on hu I did that to my joying unit and it helped. Also you may be able to update software to help random rebooting. Joying's website , get on there dig around and there contact support is good also. I received emails back in a timely fashion.

Thanks for the suggestions man. Yea I think I did do a factory reset a while back, and I contacted Joying support on this. They sent me an update file which I applied, but the issue is still there. It seems to happen more frequently when my phone is plugged in to the USB port.

Also, on the Pioneer, I've seen videos on those. They are probably more stable, but the UI is just as laggy and a pain to use. I'd pay over a grand for a head unit that had a smooth responsive touchscreen.

Honestly I still think an android or apple tablet is the way to go, if you could figure out steering wheel controls and mic input, stuff like that. They are silky smooth and responsive and have all the app support you could ever want. Plus, if you could get it mounted in a way that it was removeable, it becomes a dual purpose item. I could take it out of the truck and use it in my tent, or at home, etc..

Apologies if this has been covered somewhere, but it's a looong thread. I'm thinking about getting the Joying 11.6 inch HU, and I was thinking single DIN, because I could use the extra space for a camera switching box I'm building (I want many more than the four I currently have). Anybody know how to handle the mounting bracket issue to put a single DIN in place of the stock 7"?

Did you ever get this sorted out? The HU doesn't know where the video signal is coming from and the Anytime should work, I'd think. Maybe they just didn't understand your question and gave a conservative answer. I'm planning on running numerous cameras into one of these with a custom switching box (fingers crossed.)

Unfortunately I never did, sorry. I'm with you though, this thing should have no problem recognizing a second camera. Has anyone else been able to get a front camera working on this thing?

I have this model: JY-UQS07N4G-H with anytime camera. I make sure the "front video" app is selected and then I hit "front camera" switch. Mine works every time.

Thanks to this thread for all the details on this unit. Wireless CarPlay works flawlessly.

Only issue I'm running into, is when I make a call the person on the other end says that it sounds like I'm very far away. I may end up ordering another wired mic, unless anyone has insight.

You might want to look into this adapter made by another TW member that utilizes the factory mic: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-tacoma-oem-mic-adapter.714665/

I am going to be a tester for his model adapted for the 2020+ Tacos. I hope it works for my '21 Taco, as I have the exact same complaints from people when I talk on the phone utilizing the built-in mic.

    Dang! That's sweet!

No worries dude. It's fairly quick to connect too. It's nice not being tethered.

How are you liking the Joying unit? How do you like the wioreless CarPlay feature? I am interested in this and would really only use it for CarPlay (music, texts, Apple map, etc).
