Anyone have any accounts for their kids? I have a newborn and was wondering where I should park the money she gets from birthdays etc…I’d hate to have it waste away in a bank account.

Congrats, we did custodial for our kids to set them up when they are older. If it’s for them to buy candy when they are 11 though, then I don’t know.

    Up 11%.

    No trades.

Managed 22% in the joint account today. Holy hell that was cool. lol

BBIG closed AH at $3. Now I'm only 50% down. lol
GTii. Please release the financials for WeSuperBS already. You have them because the CEO has been buying. Do it Sunday night. Thanks
NVDA. WTF? Guess NVDA read the articles it was going into correction and responded with a giant fuck you. I like it. I also need it at $336 by next Friday. lol

If your serious and you actually get a few I will PayPal you the money for the unit and shipping to Bishop, CA as soon as I get home from work. PM me if you get an extra. Who would have thought Cortland would be the PS5 supply center of the universe. lol

You live in NJ. You could kill a deer with a slingshot anytime you want. lol

Custodial brokerage account. Then as soon as they earn any money start the IRA.

IDK if it will be that much daily but if this volume holds it will go up. There's no way it goes down on 40M shares traded. HF's don't have that kind of firepower.

That's debatable. ZIRP makes it really fucking hard to determine appropriate fundamental value because of what 0% does to the discount rate. When you consider that real rates are actually negative, it gets even weirder.

Yield value on stocks is determined based on comparison to what that same invested capital could earn risk free on a gov bond. When that's nothing or negative, the value of any stock yield at all could arguably be infinite.

Stock values are likely appropriate for the current interest rate environment. That's why the margin debt thing is concerning to me. Even a 50 or 100 bps rise in the risk free rate could lure significant capital out of stocks and back to bonds, stock values fall, margin calls force liquidations, values fall further....it could *really* hurt the market.

Not a problem if you wouldn't mind a year or so at SPY 200 to stock up on the cheap, but as always there will be economic ramifications in the non-market world. All this is assuming the Fed doesn't immediately backtrack, which is a wholly plausible scenario and likely why a lot of people feel comfortable with this level of leverage.

Yep, just hoping it keeps building a nice set of stairs out of this hole. I’d take a super fast elevator also if that’s an option

Pretty much any analyst I’ve read says the market is overvalued. I’m certainly not an expert, more of a well read novice lol. I don’t debate, just state what I think based on my limited knowledge.

Interesting part is historically most never accept or perhaps even realize the markets in a bubble when it is. Got that from reading “A Random Walk Down Wall Street”, a book highly recommended on many investment sites and hated by day traders I would guess :p

By most metrics it absolutely would be if interest rates werent 0. So yeah, if you go on PE, yield, EPS, etc, all the classic metrics, things look stupid expensive.

But what's the alternative? Lose money to inflation holding cash or bonds? That means you retire never.

So what is the value of something expensive that improves your odds of gaining wealth and is risky vs the value of something that guarantees you won't gain any wealth but that losses will only be small?

That's a personal call, but current stock prices suggest a lot of people would rather chance gaining wealth than guaranteeing they stay where they are. Which is sensible. The latter strategy only works for centi-millionaires and above.

Those aren’t the only two options. There’s a middle ground recommended for those near or in retirement that gains wealth while minimizing loss on a large market drop, allows time for market recovery for ETF investments. That’s where my IRA is. Less risk, less gain, but still a gain nonetheless. When younger I took more risks, you just need to be willing to hold for a market recovery.

Options are a whole ‘nother form of gambling that I will study and perhaps play in one day with some play accounts.

Which is smart since your approaching retirement. Sure, keep some "play" funds to bet with but put the bulk in things that are secure.

You're talking about how you as an individual invest and choose an asset allocation. I'm talking about how buyers price asset classes. These are two completely different things.
