The amount of derp in this thread is insane.

@Ianmcgrath117 do more research. You’re asking basic questions about an axle swap and completely lost me at thinking a 350 swap is a good idea.

@0xDEADBEEF please stop posting replies about something you clearly know nothing about.

I will post what i goddamn please. If you want to tell me why I'm wrong, then do it. Don't just tell me I don't know anything and leave it at that.

There's a reason old solid axle truck frames are arched in the front. From what I can see, if you want maximum articulation and minimum lift, then the frame can be a limiting factor. I get that its not a concern for everyone, but if he wants to squeeze a bigger engine in there, as many have done, it might be an option.

Who died and made you the arbiter of what is and isn't a good idea?

Chevy swaps are common, and while they certainly aren't my cup of tea, they're common nonetheless.

Also, dude is asking some legit questions. 5-lugs and 6-lugs are legitimately different trucks, and to someone who maybe doesn't eat breathe and sleep tacomas might not understand the nuances and how that may (or may not) affect a SAS.

So you point out the derp in this thread, yet don't actually contribute anything useful. Nice.

It takes literally 30 seconds of googling to find 2wd/IFS framed trucks that are solid axle swapped including multiple on this forum. Just because you have an opinion doesn’t make it right.

I’m contributing that whomever reads this thread will know not to believe the bad tech that is written here and go do his own research that is widely available. If someone can’t do that basic level of research to start, they shouldn’t be solid axle and engine swapping.

And it’s not 2000 anymore, no one in their right mind swaps in a 350 to a Tacoma. LS…I can understand.

Fair enough. I've been digging around a bit and see where I messed up, my initial post was far more absolute and general than it should have been. I'll be more careful in the future.

That said, if you're gonna swoop into a thread and shit on someone, it is much appreciated to give them a hint as to where they fucked up.

And we're just supposed to take your word that it's bad tech? Sorry, that's not how this works.

We can all google literally anything we want. It takes 30 seconds of "basic research" to find out the moon landing was fake and there was a 2nd shooter. Google even says the earth is flat.

So telling someone to go out and do some "basic level of research" (googling it) without any direction is simply not helpful.

The OP isn't swapping anything (yet), anyway. He doesn't even have a vehicle to swap. Hence the main subject of this thread.
