    Good morning fellow Porchies!!

Weather folks are calling for snow - only expecting a dusting to an inch this morning. It looks like the guys replacing the bridge on our road are ready to pour the deck today. They should be done before Christmas as they told me they planned to be.

    Stay safe out there!!

Disposal R&R didn't happen. I did knock out the dishwasher plug, before my wife invoked rule #9. So, since it was cold out, built a fire, made a pot of coffee, we both relaxed and wasted an entire day. It was great!

Certain plumbing jobs I no longer tackle, this is one of them. Plumbers are not that expensive, and it is on them to have the parts without 5 trips to HD.

Sorry Mike. No real problems with any of my 3 shots. I do need to receive a shingles shot set and I know there will be 3 to 3 days of discomfort.

Today is music lesson and wrapping Christmas gifts. The assigned Christmas tune is one of my favorites.
Nat King Cole - "The Christmas Song" (1961) - YouTube

Might even listen to this tun from the 80's.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porchies! Sorry that the shots are so hard on some of you - I guess we're getting all the effect free ones here. Maybe they are FAKE! Got the truck all back together yesterday, but it looks like offgassing when I finally sealed up the light. Going to have to watch it a couple days to see if it goes away. Wife had a Retired Teachers Christmas Banquet to go to, so me and the doggie going to work around the house and in the garage on a bunch of Putz.

starting to perk up a bit. Shoulder is not as bad as yesterday.
5 more cups of coffee should do.
Couple of hours of feeling cold and pressure in my face yesterday.
I think working the shoulder a little yesterday helped…
    Onward and upward..

No parts involved that didn't come with the new one (famous last words). Hold it up into place, turn the collar attaches it, reattach two pipes, re-use two wire nuts, run some water, done. The old one is, well old like me, but still working, just slight bearing vibration, which will only get worse. If I can stretch the R&R a bit closer to Xmas, could be a nice gift. Right? I didn't think so.

I had no issues at all with my shingles shot. And as said, the only reaction to the Phizer doses was cold eyelids for about five minutes and a very slightly sore injection site for a day or so. The Moderna booster similar.

Someone my sister knows had a more severe reaction involving her eyelids and she's had trouble with them being numb and hard to open for months.

    Good morning fellow Porchies!!!!!

Snow off and on all day yesterday - just a dusting of accumulation though. Cold this morning - 20F right now and trending down. Might be the first teens temp for us this winter season before the sun rises.

I do not think those two items qualify as Christmas gifts but I may be wrong. LOL :D My old Kirby vac is now 40 years old, rebuilt twice and still works great. I have been thinking about the new technologies, but I just do not see any advantage.

Another laid back day, practice guitar, visit my lunch partner in rehab, pick up a 5lb box of shrimp for a Christmas dinner appetizer, drop off Styrofoam for recycling, drop letters off at the Post Office and remove then replace the Amazon Video app on the living room TV. Amazon had major problems earlier this week and now the TV will not connect to Amazon.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porchies and Porchettes! Looks like some errands today. Almost 100% successful Putz yesterday, except for the greenhouse vent bolts, that were going to arrive "all day long" from Amazon.
Will be hitting 80's again, almost 90* tomorrow, and probably freeze Saturday night!

Gotta love Texas. Don't like the weather, wait five minutes. We've had some hikers in bad shape. Leave with a 70F Day, do have a northern blow in dropping the temps into the 20s in a few hours. This time of year, hike with a wind jacket and pants. Break an ankle and have to wait for rescue or spend the night in the woods, stuff your pants and jacket with leaves to help retain heat.

Hmm, what time is my PET scan?

Usually, I luck out, Radiology place right around the corner from me. Plain T-shirt, clean underwear, and my "Husky playing in the snow" PJ bottoms. All cotton, some elastic, but no changing for the CT Scan. Run in, jump into the tube, back out.

This year, Doc looked at the results, and "Ya, we need to repeat with PET Scan to take a better look". The fun part with PET "Can you hold still for 30 minutes?" Uh, I have Parkinson's. So fully sedated to get a good image. It's friggin' cold in there, so hopefully not raining (you get soaked with rain, time to change).

Rain today. A soft, soaking drizzle ALL DAY LONG. We haven't had rain like this for over a year. The ground is just sucking it up. It won't end the drought but it will save some of the life that's been dying.

We went for a drive in the mountains, back roads, a couple of days ago. Some of the meadows that I've never seen dry were completely bare ground. The grass had disappeared. All the reservoirs were down too. Farther than I've ever seen them. There are some that went empty a couple of years ago.
