My original 3.73 3rd member is sitting in my garage needing a home. I was supposed to send it back to ECGS as a core but never got around to it.

A lot of guys were recommended and did a 4.30:1 ratio, when they first came out. Pretty sure that ratio. Regardless, the new Magnums can come with a 2.98:1. Use the calculator and see what most matches your current setup. I am betting that 3.73 or 4.10 would be most appropriate.

If not @loginfailed 's option, then there should be a wrecker somewhere near you with a 3rd that you can swap in. Years ago, that cost me about $450 used.

    Lots baby!
I can chime in a little here. I have a T56 magnum that I bought new. I have 4:10 gears that I am happy with.

There are several differences between the T56 and the T56 Magnum. If you are buying a kit, be sure it will work with the magnum.

You can order a magnum with different gear ratios.

I looked up my gear ratios in my T56 magnum and they are:

    2.97, 2.10, 1.46, 1.00, 0.74, 0.50

I believe through one vendor, Tick Performance, you can get a higher final gear ratio.

Those are similar to mine, except you have a better first gear. Mine is 2.66.

    Do you have write up
On it anywhere. Trying to figure out what else I need? And where ur shifter placement was. Ya I was planning on the t56 magnum.

I will look to see what I have.

Shifter was different, but still fits in the console.

The T56 magnum comes with a shifter that you can use until you find something better. There are not many aftermarket shifters on the market. Most of the ones I tried leak.

I believe the crossmember is in a different location.

I know the output shaft is larger. It is the same unit that is on a Ford C6 transmission. I also believe the transmission is a little longer.

In my latest Tacoma mod adventures. I finally got around to welding the Treadstone Performance end tanks onto my Garrett intercooler core. I was very pleased at how clean the casting of those end tanks was.

The bottoms of the tanks were a little longer than the core, so I had to trim them and plate.

These end tanks came with diverters welded in. A major upgrade over my current intercooler. Plus a far superior core.

Only took something like 5 or six years to get around to this. I was hesitant until I felt confident enough in my welding skill.

Now to test fit some time next week, and fabricated the mounting points.

You know, been so long since I had to spec it out, that I have forgotten. I think it is 3.5". I'll get a measurement this afternoon.

Thanks, I was wondering about the larger dimension. 27.5”?

I think I may have to be flexible with the procharger cooler with all my other modifications and considering options ahead of time.

Plus, you can’t go wrong with those garret cores.

*Edit* Like almost everyone else I asked why not an GM LS power plant? He said he already has an LS7 in another one and wanted a little more. o_O I personally think his a little.

Hey @Torspd how's your experience with the URD Stage 3+? I've had two now, the 2nd one is now close to going. Got about 30000 miles on each. I will be putting in a different brand next. The first time I thought it might have been my fault, but now that the 2nd has gone out and considering I put 240000km on the clutch in my old car and have had one in my other car for 11 years, I believe that rules out operator error.
