Liking it on the interstate, I would hit coast, and now it doesn’t it for me. Kinda wishing it had side warning too, seems like no matter how many times I look some vehicle always sneaks up beside me when I go to switch lanes.

Loving the backup camera for hooking up my moto trailer….have been doing it for so long now I usually get it, but saves me from having to jump out and checking. Spot on every single time now.

Yeah the side warning is the only thing I am really missing. Mine also has the rear camera and that is really convenient, never had a vehicle with one.

Me neither was going to put one on my 1st Gen, bought this new truck instead. The informant screen is awfully nice too, not as janky as the cell phone on a ram mount. We have been getting some seriously thick fog here, had Google maps pulled up so I wouldn’t blow through an intersection, couldn’t see the stop signs or traffic signals for that matter until you were right on top of them.

It'll aggressively slow for deer, you think? I thought that was only for car-sized stuff. I've had a few close calls with smaller deer and it didn't start braking.

It neither slows nor automatically brakes; just warns me to apply the brakes. Didn't know about auto braking; maybe because I never use CC? Have to reread that section of the OM.

Defo have got warnings for deer. Can't say how big or small they have to be to trigger a warning. I've also had a couple of what appeared to be false alarms, but I suspect they were triggered by a potential hazard that I didn't see. Maybe a yote or a coon.

Hmmm. Mine warns you to brake, and then like a millisecond later it aggressively brakes. Never done either for deer sized things... Only ever does it when the guy ahead of me is turning off and I'm trying to time it right to zip past him without braking. Guaranteed to slam on the brakes then, usually after he's already totally cleared the intersection.

got a local buddy of mine who is trying to convince me to come in and pick up an SR. For the 2022 model year, they are super well equipped. Thing I cant get over is the steelies. I notice some of these SR's have oem wheels that look alot better than the regular silver steelies, how could I get those? and more importantly, how do I convince the dealer to make it happen in this market? :D

All the SRs are steel. SR5 and then higher trims come with upgraded. I'm a steel man, myself. Looks great with tires that are the business... Very utilitarian. But it ain't for everyone.

I'm a lucky guy. In November 2017, when I bought my 2017 SR Utility Package, I didn't realize I was getting one of the last 4 cylinder 5 speed MT's. Who knows, maybe Toyota will bring it back someday.
With Clazzio seat covers and leather OEM Hilux shift knob she's pretty fancy.

I wasnt sure if it was an SX package or something - the OP has the gray wheels on his SR and those look good enough. Personally I would view them as an upgrade to the normal silver steelies, if they also came on an SR, somehow.

Yep, the SX package will bump you up to SR5 wheels if I'm not mistaken. How I got mine

Not brand new any more, but still getting Low Range action!

I knew I was going to surpass mods that TRD and PRO came with so I went with the SX package. I like its grill too... It also had all the options I really wanted. Really like this truck.

Twinsss. I removed the SX badge like 3 days after purchase haha. Took advantage of the sunny day and ended up leaving very little residue

I did about the same, removed the day after I got it home. Not that I was ashamed!

Remember that the steelies are low tech enough that you won't feel bad about painting them (or powder coat). They also are repairable if trail damaged. Just wish they were as light weight as the alloy ones.
