Update for those following this thread...

The next batch of Tombit 3rd-Gen Toyota Tacoma (2016-2019) ATC/ATO fuse type mic adapters will be made available for purchase later this evening. Please note, this batch of ATC/ATO fuse type adapters will be the last as the ATC/ATO fuse type adapters will be superseded by the low-profile mini fuse type adapters. With the myriad of aftermarket head units and their use of different fuse types (low-profile mini fuse/mini fuse/ATC/bus/etc.) and the difficulties some customers experienced trying to get the ATC/ATO adapter's add-a-fuse tap to fit with their aftermarket head unit, it became apparent that many customers were being forced to modify their ATO/ATC fuse version of the adapter in order to tap power from somewhere other than their aftermarket head unit. The low-profile mini fuse version of the adapter has been designed to help alleviate these issues by making it easier for customers to tap directly into their in-cabin fuse box. The low-profile mini fuse version has a low-profile mini fuse add-a-fuse tap with a 5 foot lead, allowing for enough wire to tap into the in-cabin under dash fuse box (optionally, you can still draw power from your aftermarket head unit if it utilizes a low-profile mini fuse slot and the adapter fits.)

If you're still interested in purchasing the ATC/ATO version of the adapter, there are 71 units in this last batch that will be made available for purchase later this evening. Again, once these are sold out, they're gone for good.

If you'd prefer to go with the low-profile mini fuse version of the adapter, the product listing can be found at:
Tombit 3rd-Gen Toyota Tacoma (2016 - 2019) Mic Adapter (Low Profile Mini Fuse)

The low-profile mini fuse version of the adapter will also be available for purchase later this evening.

For those waiting on a 2020+ version of the adapter, those are still in testing. I had difficulty finding 2020+ owners for testing, but recently connected with a few and am waiting for feedback. If there are any other 2020+ owners out there who'd like to help test, please PM me.

FYI - Both the ATC/ATO and low-profile mini fuse version of the adapters are available for purchase.

@WickedAx, I'm pretty positive I have the same radio you do in a 2019. How was call quality after you switched back to the OEM mic instead of the one on the face? My wife said I sounded far away with the one on the headunit, now I'm far away in a tin can with something over my mouth. Want to make sure I didn't overlook a setting or something. I used the bolt behind the head unit with a large washer, I assume that was a ground point. Can't think of anything else I might have missed.

The head unit I'm running and the one I designed the ATC/ATO version of the adapter around was the Joying US-JY-TO160N4GS-1. The mic on the faceplate of that unit wasn't awful, but seemed to be very directional; however, the quality/clarity with the OEM mic should be much better and being able to utilize the OEM mic was the motivating factor in building the adapter. What you're describing makes me think you either aren't getting power to the OEM mic module or you have a bad ground.

Are both fuses in the mic adapter's add-a-fuse tap completely seated? Also, be sure to check the 2-amp fuse in the mic adapter's add-a-fuse tap to be sure it hasn't blown as that would result in power not being supplied to the OEM mic.

OK, going to pull the radio and check all these things. Hopefully I just did something wrong, because my wife says it isn't usable in the current state.

One other thing to check while you've got the head unit out - Disconnect the side of the mic adapter harness that connects to the vehicle (this will be the connector with the red, black, yellow and white wires going to the mic adapter.) Inspect the 4 pins in the connector that I've encircled in the image below to ensure none of them are bent/misaligned as that would certainly cause an issue. These pins can be easily bent when inserting the connectors (I'm not a fan of Toyota's choice of head unit harness connectors as I feel they're too delicate, but it is what it is...)

Will do. There's only one 28 pin connector in the harness, right?

Technically, there are two as you have a male and female, but the one to check is the female connector on the vehicle side (the one in the image I posted in my last reply.)
