Lassen Volcanic National Park. Grew up nearby and got to go frequently. Ended up interning there for a summer in high school, I’ve done every hike and been all over that park. Though, I love glacier deeply, Lassen is like a second home.

The Subway cave in Lassen Forrest? Yes. Lava tunnels in the park, I’m unaware of.

Many times, Shasta Caverns are worth checking out too. Just north east of there is Lava Beds National Monument, super awesome caves to check out in summer, the caves are significantly cooler!

There is a hot spring outside of Red Bluff, it used to be called Tuscan Springs, but I don’t know if you can get to it anymore.

THanks! Between work and pleasure, I get around hahah. Since posting that, I've added 7 more National Parks in Arizona and another one in South Carolina.
I wish I had the patience to do good writeups like some of the other members here. I have so many good pics, tips and stories to share.

    Great thread!

I've been to several parks during my military career and even before/after my 25 years of service in the USAF.

One park I remember was on the Big Island...Volcanoes National Park--walked the trail where there were memorialized footprints. It was also amazing to see a Black Sand Beach.

City/states I have lived in that have state parks:
    Abilene, TX
Dover, DE (The last state to get 1st Nat'l park)
    Los Angeles, CA
    Chandler, AZ

I think that National Parks Passport is a great idea. Thanks for the wealth of photos on this thread.

    Ed

Getting ready for my trip out west in a couple weeks to visit more National Parks! This trip will include Grand Canyon, Carlsbad Caverns, Saguaro, and maybe Guadeloupe Mountains if we have time.

Any advice/tips? I'm ordering my National Parks Pass this evening and have already reserved a timed-entry at Carlsbad for the tour. Hope gas $ doesn't get TOO bad...

One tip I can offer is to purchase a Passport book. It’s not a big deal to get a stamp when you visit a park. It is neat to look back and remember your visits. I wish I had got one 30+ years ago.

I highly recommend hiking the Bright angles trail if you're an avid hiker! Seeing the Grand Canyon from the top and bottom whole different experience!

Thanks! I bought one at the first National Park I visited(Mammoth Cave) and I gotta admit it's probably one of the best ideas the National Park Service has ever had! It's funny to walk the visitor centers and see all the folks with their little blue books in hand. Kinda like Pokemon for adults- gotta get them all!
