    Hello TW

Yes, I'm not a Tacoma owner. Nor do I own a pick-up. Just a car lover looking for lighting advice. Here's my car.

Been a long-time lurker of the now famous lighting thread by @crashnburn80. Discovered it after installing LEDs into the Focus' reflector headlight. Did the same to an Escape (which now has retrofits). Now with the Civic, I did the H9 mod, but broke the green end cap of the H11 connector. Not sure if I should be worried. I planned for this to be an interim mod before I replace the headlights. I'm having a hard time between Morimoto XBs or OEM Honda LEDs. I understand that, while brighter than the OEM LEDs on the Tacoma, the Morimotos have less desirable attributes. Now I'm not sure if the same applies to the Civic.

Edit: Here's the link to the my post on CivicX

I just bought a 2022 Civic (new body style). If the LED headlights on the 10th gen are anything like these 11th gen then go for OEM. My headlights are ridiculously bright and clear.

That's my thinking. However, the IIHS rates the 16-19 LEDs as poor. While they perform well, they have too much glare. However, the 20-21 models perform better. Plus, I want to replace the fogs ( DD SS3 Max or their new elite series) and I do not want to take off the bumper twice.

I will admit, after discovering the thread, I kept using the SL1s until my Focus met its untimely end this year. When I installed them in the Civic's projector, I can tell something was off. Quickly removed them and bought H9s from Menards.

Simple solution. Send me an OEM LED headlight and an OEM halogen unit and I can give you a comparative answer (prefereably send me opposite sides, a driver and passenger). I've done this for others, see Honda post #5253. You can often find these on ebay with broken tabs or other defects which don't affect performance for steep discounts. I cannot guarantee a timeline, those other Honda units sat in the queue for a while, but I currently have nothing on hand that needs testing, although several items are inbound.

I'm just an independent guy in a garage with some good lighting gear that knows a thing or two. No time frame needed, get it to me whenever you can. Test priority is given to Toyota applicable lighting products followed by Jeep applicable products prior to other brands. Queue time just depends on whatever else is sent my way. PM me for arrangements. Note that for testing all products should be OEM and not aftermarket replicas.
