What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Finished up the rock lights. Thinking I'll use them camping more than in the actual rocks.

50 bucks on eBay... I'm happy with them. Figuring these will be basically wear items (damage from debris etc) Better to replace cheap rock lights than replacing expensive rock lights

 

Got the supercharger Rebuilt and repainted and installed today

 

Took the lady to the drive ins tonight

Installed the BBM Offroad lower uniball conversion.

 

Will be curious to hear how long the uniballs last.

 

is that the led license plte light ar from Amazon, ive bought that one 3 times and my latest one is giving out, they all fail, gonna buy a different one.

is this the only company that makes these

 

I'd buy the neoprene wraps used on mt bike shocks or something similar to keep the dust build up to a minimum.

The BBM ones have one big bolt running through it which seems a lot stronger than the anonymous fab design.

 

@NC2CATaco What head lights are those/ where did you get them? They look great. Do you like them? Do they work well?

 

Definitely a maintenance item but when you offroad as much as I do so are the OEM ones. It's worth the peace of mind to me knowing I can't have a lbj failure now.

 

That's why I'm curious. I figure you'll actually put them to use.

I go through OEM LBJs yearly.

 

I thought the design didn't fix the failure. It's only for more articulation.

 

I typically replace mine every year too. I plan on keeping the truck for a long time so these should eventually pay for themselves.

 

@unstpible What do you think of those tail lights? They look great. Where'd you get yours?

 

They may give you more articulation but I'm not sure. For me, my cv's would bind before my LBJ's reached their articulation limit, so the lbj wasn't limiting me in terms of articulation. These are the fix for LBJ failures, as they are not LBJ's, they are uniballs. I think anonymous fab just says they won't stop lbj failures on his website for liability reasons.

 

If the design is to fix the failure then wouldn't you want a product that says it does just that. If you can't cover the liability of such then you know it doesn't do as intended.
