It was a standard 15% off sale through Toyota parts, but it was only good for a day or so. They have percentage off sales all the time that you can stack with free shipping. The discount is automatically applied, free shipping usually with code "freeship" and you can compare prices between different dealers.

I had a couple items saved in my cart, but didn't realize the sale ended that night. Next time...

When I did mine, I removed the grille to primarily make properly aiming the DD SS3 sport fog's easier. Once they were assembled I snugged the hex bolts so they could still move. Then installed them one at a time using the OEM fogs as a guide. Once I got the aim correct I was able to easily reach in and snug them tight so they wouldn't move.

Yea I guess it only comes in 3 colors for the Tacoma right now :(, fortunately for me, Super White was one of them. I think the Tundra photo is just for reference...I'm sure they will have more colors available eventually.

Thanks! The AVS logo was already installed. I think its molded into the deflector but I'll have to double check. I was able to remove the logo from the black aeroskin because it was just painted on.

    *UPDATE*
I contacted AVS customer service and they confirmed that the logo is a sticker. Maybe a heat gun or blow dryer would get it off easily, but I left it alone

The hump is what I was on the fence about on the black one. At first it didn't bother me, but after a while I thought it made my hood look kinda busy if that makes sense. I do like the deflectors but wanted a more subtle option. The paint under the old one was fine other than a very small area in the center that looked like a hard water stain, but it came right out with a little bit of clay bar and wax. I was expecting the worst when I removed the old one, but honestly it wasn't bad at all. I guess it depends on the climate in your area, but here where I live the weather is not very extreme.

    More Meso, can't help myself.

Not looking forward to the day the battery needs replaced, it's gonna be a bear to take this apart with that hidden screw.

That was my thought too. I’ll probably destroy that little cover. I held off on getting one of these until Toyota reached out to let me know I could stop by to get the second key they owed me. I drove home and destroyed it to get the chip out. Lol! Hopefully the battery they put in was a fresh one and it’ll last me awhile.

You can extend the battery life by doing this when locking the truck. I also keep my extra Fob shut off.

    Thanks @OnHartung'sRoad

Good morning folks, absolutely love the wealth of information here! Here’s some eye candy after the lift and 33’s were installed. Anxiously awaiting my camper top and prinsu roof racks.

I like it. Took a little over a month to ship. Almost went with Prinsu until I saw this one. Seemed RCI's other products were respected so I gave it shot.

Been getting caught up on some maintenance and ahead on some. Trucks at 85k miles and I just did the transmission fluid for the time, oops. New fluid and its as good as new, although it wasn’t shifting bad it was just starting to stink when working hard off-road.

Not sure if my spark plugs have ever been done but I’m going to do that this weekend and probably clean the throttle body.

I bought the truck used 4 years ago at 36k miles from a Ford/Kia dealership which they got on trade from a retired vet after he had it for a year, I believe he traded it for a Cobra ( I found a receipt in the truck and did some creeping lol). That being said I doubt the previous maintenance was anything but oil changes.

I’ve changed the engine oil and differential oils this week. 5k ahead of schedule on engine oil but I think the trucks gonna sit for the winter again, so we’ll have all fresh fluids for 2022. This is my second time doing my diff fluids, they were in good shape at 59k miles (not knowing if they’ve ever been done), and the fluid was basically new at 85k when I just changed them again.

    upload_2021-12-9_9-39-4.jpg

I gotta melt the ice cube and then give it a good hot water pressure wash under neath, let it dry for a few day and then hopefully undercoat in on a warm day and let it sit again for a few weeks for it to set in nice and good. Gotta change the transfer case fluid as well this weekend so it’s on the same schedule as the diff’s.

Also due for that tire rotation. Geez maintenance sure is fun when you do it all yourself lol. Just thankful I have warm dry places to do it as well as a outdoor pit to wash and undercoat.
