How are the shops getting stuff so fast when guys like me are told a 9 month wait? Just doesn’t seem right to me.

hahahahahaha...... because we place several hundred thousand dollar Purchase Orders well in advance and do it on a consistent basis. The lead times are going to be dropping dramatically over the next few months. Both King and Fox have communicated that that the lead times are in fact shrinking because of bold business decisions (this is good news). Remember guys that all of these weird one off shops that shut down over the flu last year have had massive ripple effects on larger companies that relied upon their services and providing those parts. This affects the entire off-road industry massively on a scale that is insane for example when someone who manufactures hose clamps halts shipping of coil-overs to thousands of customers and there is nothing the company can do unless they ship partially incomplete products to customers who are going to do credit card chargebacks and complain about missing clamps and whine like little girls. so this forces the hands of companies to hold their products and enforce additional lead times and delays.

I get the business end of things 100%, but with that said its a very tough pill for your average guy to swallow. I personally have 20k invested since the end of July and have absolutely nothing to show for it. While I trust I will receive everything without issue, it is also frustrating to see certain people receive stuff so quickly while others are forced to sit back and wait. Not knocking anybody whatsoever, but its not a super fun place to be. I also don't understand what you think is so funny.

It sucks but I think that’s just how corporations work. Whoever spends more money gets priority. We issue millions of dollars in PO’s to electrical suppliers for our jobs and they bend over backwards trying to get us items that are back ordered. For instance pvc stuff is impossible to get right now and they find ways to get us stuff for our jobs but with smaller businesses walking in the door spending less money the put at the bottom of the list. I know it’s screwed up but that’s how they do business.

Did you order direct from MFG.? This may be one reason to go thru a shop that has a long standing relationship with their suppliers. But even that may not speed things up for the individual during this time. If you have not already done it it may help to post what items with details you are still waiting on. The community does seem to have the ability to come thru and find things to help out but they need to be asked.

It really isn't a huge deal to me as I didn't plan to start this build until feb/march. I just don't agree with it making a difference of who you are. But its happening all over the place right now. Obviously, money has to be made for a business to survive. But its always been a belief of mine that every customer is treated the same. I just hope this whole cold BS has opened some eyes and businesses start investing to keep things here. Shit, we have had a motor sitting on a stand since the end of June that we cant finish because we cant get a cam for it.

Always baffled me why ppl would order directly from them instead of a retailer lol. I saw ppl all over the last year complaining about lead times and i was like dude just go buy it here for no wait lol. Still complain to this day. Companies that continue to fund the shock companies with large orders are going to get priority over little old jimmy buying one order. Just the world we live in.
