I bought the truck with the billy 5100's already installed. Rear is not lifted and front it lifted just enough to level. I am in New England so drive in the snow in the winter but only street driving otherwise. 5100's a noticable upgrade over stock struts?

I had a 2016 Taco Sport that I swapped stocks for 5100's. Ride was much better plus you get the level benefit. Personally I would tell the dealer that I would provide the 5100's. "Cost" at a dealer is going to be at least full retail price. I would buy my own online and save a few $$$. Also make sure they set the fronts to be at the 2nd notch so the truck is still level. If they put it on the 1st notch it will be at stock height. I plan on putting 5100's on my 2008 soon all the way around and set at level. Another budget option is buying very low mileage take-off springs and Bilstein struts/shocks from a 2020 or 2021 Tacoma Off Road which also provides a more level and better ride.

Didn’t think this deserved its own thread so I’m asking it here… Has anyone ever been out to Knoxville OHV in NorCal? Wanting to do some light off-roading this weekend and wondering how it is.

Yes i would say so. I bought 5100s and felt that it rode much better. And as mentioned, you can adjust the height of the front springs.

Cost: $94.98 + free shipping + $5.42 state sales tax collected by eBay - $4.75 discount.

An eBay seller that I asked about wheels replied that I would need the TPMS for $120 and lug nuts at $40. eBay still prohibits side deals.

20211209_093745.jpgInstalled the RedLine Tuning QuickLift ELITE kit and connected the two gas struts this morning. No more wrestling with the prop rod and heavy metal hood! The crush rib on this hood seems a bit narrower than portrayed in the instructions, which note that there is quite a bit of variation during the ten-year production period. I emailed the company that the hood brockets are on the edge of the crush rib with a gap between bracket and curve of the rib, but the rivets are tight and it doesn't look like the brackets will move. President of the company replied, that it would be OK to clip off the rivet stems, and should problems arise, contact them for new rivets. Great customer support! I made certain that it clears the ground from the battery and other things. The fifth alloy wheel arrived today, which will become the new spare when the wheel swap happens.

After waiting and waiting for the MESO dome lights I thought I would try something else. For only $2.90 I am very happy with the results with 48 led's. Pictures just taken at 1130 pm and map lights are off.20211209_231750.jpg

I do have the dual color maps. I only bought those because they were $27.50 for Black Friday. My back seat in my access cab very rarely gets used so not worth the price for me. If they were available I would just buy the white MESO dome. That is what I had in my 2016. But for under $3 I am good now.

Finally popped these off with a little help of a blowtorch and some ingenuity. Welds look like poop but I’m still learning

I put some of these LED bulbs in my map and dome lights and they are bright as hell. I have been wanting MESO LEDs for the red option but am always too slow to get them when they are in stock. These things definitely made a difference and I think I am sticking with them
