Aayyyup...mine are in bad shape too. Only 2 years old and they started tearing about a year ago. Multiple tears at this point. Not good, can't say I recommend. My stock ones lasted years before tearing.

I know Geartech sells the clips separately if you want just those, they're pretty beefy clips (stronger than the OE ones I think, I might be wrong though). Those have held up just fine, its their fender skirts that don't hold up though

Yeah I bet, gonna be highs in the low 50s all next week for us, finally getting some snow up in our mountains too. Course it'll probably only last a week though

Some idiots in LA drove a car into & robbed a jewelry store overnight and made off with about $200 in fake jewelry, lmfao.

They’re splash guards not the actual plastic well lining. They prevent some amount of debris from entering the engine bay.

I dunno how effective they are though when you hit a pool of ice cold melted snow water while up in the mountains, I've often wondered how good that is for just about anything on the truck. Maybe why my catalytic monitors won't set lol :(

    ah I see my bad.

i trashed those as well when i ripped em to pull my starter. My engine bay had been a mud block at one point tho, not a good reference for caring for a tacoma lol

Bear needs it, they are looking pretty sad up there. Are you going to do any snow wheeling this weekend?

I'm heading up this weekend, yeah. Hit up a couple locals to go with me but no one has committed yet so it might just be me. I really need to do a long drive/4x4 trip to try and set these goddamn cat monitors so I can get smogged, I have T-minus 21 days before I'm overdue.

Put over 1000 miles on since my battery swap and everything is set except the cat monitors, they're being stubborn.

I am surprised its taking that long. I drove the 4runner to Reno and back ruffle 150 miles and it was good to go. Maybe you should try driving to Reno and back.

That's what worries me. I went up and down the highway a few times for 20 miles or so each way, up Azusa canyon too which is a couple thousand feet elevation gain. Still won't set. I even ran a bottle of Cataclean through the last tank, still nothing.

Only thing I haven't done yet is a 4x4 trip, if some miles in 4lo up a mountain doesn't do it then I don't know what will. Tried the Toyota procedure several times too.

Fairly certain, because I did take it to the smog shop about a month ago and he was the one that told me they weren't set yet and to come back after a couple hundred miles. That was when I went into the Scangauge to see, and sure enough he was right. Still showing "not ready" on just the cat monitors.

I would try another battery before going that route, from what I'm reading even a new battery might not be up to par enough to make the ECU happy to set all monitors. I mean I did have to replace the cats once on this truck and they are currently Magnaflows (5 years old). So maybe they have run their course, I know they're not comparable to OEM. Just hard to believe they'd only last 5 years. And even still you'd think it would throw a P0420 code if that were the case, like it did last time. No codes, no pending codes.
