Yeah it’s not perfect, but it keeps the bulk of the water off the manifolds, which could lead to cracking.

Happy I’ve only ever had one of those, and I had the impact gun with me

Battery makes sense, but everything else you think would throw a code not just not set.

I've never had one on the highway thankfully, although when I was a kid my parents had a Ford Expedition with those ill fated *edit Firestone tires that would blow out over 55mph or something. Stranded us on the median in the fast lane, that was fun.

    @Sperrunner

Instead of doing the right thing, and organizing a tool bag specific to the 4R to go wheel with, I decided to buy another (another on top of another again) set of tools :anonymous:

    20211209_112150.jpg

Trying to convince myself this is more 'compact'

@se7enine you're right, it was the Firestone/Ford controversy of the early 2000s actually

The one I made for my 4 runner bent the first time I needed to get pulled out... And it wasn't even stuck that bad

They use 1/8 for the bumper facia and 3/16 for the mounting pieces on the frame

The coastal I made used 3/16 throughout maybe thicker for the mounting pieces but I don't remember it was much stouter

I know the TNF is hot rolled to be easier for them to bend but the coastal maybe cold rolled

I’m at the point where I need tool kits in both my trucks because I’m too lazy to move it between them.

The way the TNF hybrid bumper looks is perfect it's just not stout

I would do the same with two trucks. Better to know you've got a kit in each than rely on remembering to move it each time.

A few years ago Sears was having one of its many closeout sales and I picked up a 100+ piece Craftsman tool kit to keep in my truck for $50

Except the largest socket size it has is 17mm which makes it useless for a lot of things, so I had to stuff some extras in it.

I always hated moving tools between vehicles which is why I have multiple sets.

Still got my old 150 piece or whatever it is Craftsman tool set from over 20 years ago. Then I bought separate tool sets and added them to various bags as needed over the years.

Now I have so many all over the place that I'm just setting aside or buying specifically what I need for the 4R. In a separate packout, I have a few impact sockets and the necessary allen wrenches/etc to both fix and maintain the 4R.

    20211209_114821.jpg

The two will now sit on top of a larger box (combined width of the two above) which will house my impact wrench, extra battery or two, and breaker bar(s) if needed.

Gloves and whatever else can easily fit inside the larger box with my impact.

I drive a Toyota so I don’t have to carry tools.
