No bashing here brother! This was my current build before I bought the Taco (see below). TJ man for life! Bought it 3.5 years ago bone stock. Did all the work myself except the frame restore and alignment. Still have it, wasn't trading it in for the Taco.20211108_125202.jpg 20210415_190516.jpg

Myself....2008 JKU with 165,000. Still going strong! Other than the occasional death wobble and water pump replacement. :bananadance:

I'll always be a TJ guy and if they weren't astronomically priced here in Texas right now, I would buy one of them the drive as a toy and the Tacoma as a daily.

My JK has been nothing but problems since the day I got it and I'm just done with this vehicle. 2014 with only 1018xx now, on its second engine with multitude of valve and sensor issues. First engine went out weeks after I had the downpipes and O2 sensors replaced. Constant evap problems.

On the positive side, dealer called and said the Tacoma was at port yesterday and in-transit..but she said they dont expect it until around Christmas? Haha

I canceled the blackout package and already ordered the overlays off Amazon Guess I'll find some wheels I like somewhere!

I have been really fortunate with the 3.6 it has been a decent engine. Use about a quart and a half of oil every 5,000 miles but I like hitting trails so I will keep it instead of using the new Tacoma.

Yeah, had my fun with that too. Right after the Crossover Steering install. That led to lower control arms.... which led to a new frame saddle since you can't weld new lower control arm mounts to frames made out of swiss cheese! **%$$#&!!! But we love them.

My temporary VIN disappeared on Wednesday 12/8/21! 3TMCZ5AN9NM49A392
I get a call today from Dolan Toyota in Reno, expected delivery is DECEMBER 16-18th 2021! I don't understand how they can move that quickly but hey whatever, I'll take it!
So estimates for the "49" th week of production in my temporary VIN held true it appears. Wishing everyone else luck on a speedy build on their allocation.

I’m honestly not sure, it’s an auto long bed with all the bells and whistles.

My wait was definitely affected by the long bed. I held out for two months for it. Started out wanting a Access Cab, 6' bed, in Army Green or the burgundy Red but eventually took the DC in white because the only one available had the 6' bed and Technology Package that were most important to me. But also mine is an SR5. I had to keep my price in the mid 30s.
Took a big swing at the mod list yesterday adding the tires I wanted. 20211211_153651.jpg 20211211_153631.jpg

265 miles on the truck. Was really itching to get those passenger car tires off my truck!

When I ordered my white OR DCLB with all the bells and whistles, my dealer told me “white" and “long bed” would take longer because Toyota produces many more short beds and most Tacoma buyers don’t get white. He said although the official Toyota line was a 6-12 month wait, he thought it would be more like 4-6 months. If my January 3 build date holds, it would have been a bit over 4 months.

It makes sense that they produce the long beds in batches per say. I wasn’t in a hurry so I told them what I wanted and to let me know when they had one.

I discovered my real VIN this morning...getting closer!
However, I was a little surprised to see the OEM tire brand being "Bridgestone." Any 22 manual ORs coming in with those as opposed to the kevlars? Also - it appears that all manuals are assembled at the new plant in Guanajuato - plant "T." Haven't seen any manuals on autotrader nationwide with "M" for the plant.

    Can't wait!

How did you discover the true VIN? Obviously I can call the dealer, but didn't know if there was a work-around.

I just did my daily check of the dealer website this morning and found my listing with a new "real" VIN. They [dealer] probably had access to it after the temp disappeared, but I've been trying not to bug my salesman so much...I'm sure he's sick of me.

Anyone have any clue on the Bridgestones?
