I don't have time to get the box smooth enough for real paint so it is going to be in primer for a while since I'm leaving for Florida tomorrow and will be gone a few months. I painted the port and corners so when the trim panels are put on if there are any gaps you wont see bare wood. I know it looks sloppy, but I'm not worried about it. It's not done. Give me crap if you want but I'm NOT done.

 

Yea the pictures suck, lighting was horrible. And before anyone says anything, I know it needs more body work. That's why I didn't paint it because I don't have time to do it. That is also why I didn't spend much time making the paint on the port look good.

wow, i have lost 20% of hearing from going to too many concerts in the 70's and 80's and they were not anywhere near that loud..............

If you don't want to put in the sanding to paint it then wrap it, vinyl would look good and its stretches nicely. For customers that want painted boxes I charge a lot more because of the body work that is involved. Most decide wrapping it because of the high cost. Just a thought....Schooling in daytona beach? Are you going to car audio school there? Metra has a great program there, my lead installer went to school there. He's an car audio/electrical evil genius.....

 

Hey, sorry for the late response but I went to Installer Institute there. I learned a lot more than I already knew and I feel much more confident now about my abilities. There were two guys in my class that were from Jersey.

But onto the truck, I gave up on the glass box and walled off the truck while I was in Florida. Now there are four 15" boss audio somethings and the same crappy Hitron amp. It's all covered in suede and check my build thread to see the headliner wrapped in suede and various other interior panels as well.

I also upgraded the big 3 with Tsunami 1/0 wire.

The box is 12ft^3 net and tuned to 35hz. It's bolted down where the rear seat belts used to mount to and there is room under the box for the jack. Onto the pictures...
