Lame. The m16 won the cold war and two gulf wars. We lost Afghanistan after not using he M16 anymore.

You don't need anything else but a 20". If it's good enough for the Marine Corps it's good enough for you

If you are shooting .308 out of anything shorter than a 18" I have a lot of questions.

At 14, a lot of 300aac and 308/7.62 loads will intersect to near intersect in velocity, same thing for x39 loads.

Logistics is the only reason I can agree with for using a round that's overpowered for the barrel length and accepting the insane loss of Mv and downside of stupid amounts of flash over a smaller cased caster burning load out of the same caliber.

Ironically I will probably end up with a 5.56 honeybadger-esqe AR, not because the 5.56 is great out of a 5.5"-7", barrel, but because I have enough 5.56 stock piled from back during the Trump slump to last me the next 8 years of this presidency with my new (read less) shooting habits (see very little free time and priorities), and have zero interest in paying the current prices or dealing with the panic buyers.

Some good prices on handguards and upper receivers, not to mention some complete uppers for $350.

I've got an Atlas handguard in the cart. :spending:

Ugh I should prob jump on that too. My 16 inch AR has an older 13 inch quad rail handguard want to update it to a more modern mlok 15 inch one. Just not a high priority right now as it's not my main rifle
