I'm in Sac and have some room if needed. Will be installing some suspension one of the weekends before Christmas too. Likely looking at the weekend of the 18th

I've been vacillating on the whole concept and between Vagabond and GFC.

Went to a tundra. Wanted a 6.5 bed for an eventual four wheel camper setup. Most of our off-roading now is on blm and forest roads so size isn’t an issue. If your interested willing to let it go for a pretty good deal. If your getting one new be sure to put a deposit in before dec 31st. They go up 10%.

Is the GFC bigger than a normal shell?

I would say it’s a little taller than a typical cab height shell. Gf is like 5,1 and can sit in the back with a full sized camping chair.

100% rear window upgrade. Would feel very odd not having it and losing visibility imo

I just looked and they're booking for early february deliveries. Vagabond is still a year out. But the thing is, I'm not convinced about the whole screw together platform. Or the way the sides open up--I cannot think of a time I've ever needed that or wanted it. Plus, all those seams are great conduits for dust. I'm just not crazy about all that dust over my sleeping bag, etc.

Maybe adding some weather-stripping will help with the dust

It’s got seals built into the frame. If you look at the way it’s constructed, it allows the side doors to flex when the bed twists. The same is true for the rear door and tailgate. There are struts to help control that but each door is a potential leak.

I should add I am most familiar with the Vagabond design and feel like for off-roading, it is a better design. Which is not to say the GFC isn't, just that it may require more maintenance over the long run. And you have to like their effort to improve lead time and to build all components in-house.
