It just looks like they took styling advice from a 10 yr girl.

There's a sweet irony in third gen owners calling the new tundra ugly

Why, a 3rd Gen Tacoma is one of the best looking trucks on the market?

The MKIII Tacoma is not a good looking truck. It had the same reception when it was introduced. It's only saving grace is it's outstanding drivetrain.

idk i didnt see much of a resemblance to the Tacoma for the 10 seconds I got to see these 2 the other day... the front end looked brutal and the body line threw me off... but the more I study this photo the more it may be growing on me... we will see

Regardless of styling Toyota knocked it out of the ballpark with the I force MAX. It throughly impressed Doug which says something. It makes more torque than the raptor and Doug said it had a better bottom end feel. New multi link rear end is also a huge improvement.

I think you are in the minority, its a very good looking truck and also the best selling Tacoma ever made.

Sorry but they are bread from the same loaf. At least with this new tundra they didn't phone it in like the Tacoma. I don't miss my MKIII Tacoma one bit. This new tundra is exciting for where Toyota is going with things.

I think they did well on looks on this rig however still missed the mark on the simple things.
I was waiting for this Tundra so ended up in a 2021 Taco to see if it was gonna be my next FS truck but next FS again will be a GMC. I mean where is the bumper step? Oh right….I have to add that for an extra $300cad AND have it hanging down to catch on stuff like my Taco does.
And no tow hooks on a 4x4?
Their excuse was aerodynamics. I’m sorry but tow hooks are not going to give that much of an upper hand over competitors for fuel economy.
Really sad to see how this one turned out…..really.

Toyota gave us a new tundra with a powerful competitive engine , a way nicer interior, a huge improvement in fuel economy compared to the previous gen, a stronger frame, and a completely revised superior rear suspension design. And that still wasn’t enough for some people.

I’ll stick with my main rule which is never buy the 1st itineration of anything. I’ll check back on the 1st update on this Tundra to see where it’s at.

Thus proving once more that you can't please all of the people all of the time. There's a simple solution here. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

This thread is basically an optional survey with what statisticians call extreme response bias. There are tons of people who like the new Tundra just fine but don’t feel very strongly about it. So they’re not gonna expend much energy to come debate the 50 people, or so, thus far, that think it’s a dumpster fire and do feel strongly about that opinion.

On the other hand you’re not seeing people who passionately love the new Tundra and are willing to come on here and flex thumbs to defend it. So there’s that.

I was disappointed with the first pictures I saw, but once I started watching reviews the styling grew on me. The interior looks good and the drivetrain has drawn a lot of praise. Something like 538 lb ft at 2500 rpm iirc. That sounds pretty good to me. Wife liked it a lot and actually entertained the idea of getting one. I just don't need to part with $60k these days though.

It's a lumpy mess with a front end that looks like it was thrown together in Powerpoint.

Add to that it uses styling that is very "now" and these boxy pigs will not age well.

    But with all
But with all the emissions crap and turbos I can see them having reliability issues. I feel way more comfortable with my NA Tacoma...it's probably the last of the true Toyota trucks made...

I like it! and will consider dealing with the headache of driving a full-size truck while in the city for a Toyota OEM forced induction.

I've been considering pulling the trigger on a supercharger for the 3rd gen but current market used price ($31,500) plus supercharger ($~7,000) puts me close to Tundra SR territory.

    /Nope on the orange-pink color!
