Just bought a 2020 TRD-OR MT a few days ago, and I've noticed something odd (to me) about the clutch. In the first quarter inch or so of travel, the pedal shifts slightly to the left. It still feels solid, like it doesn't wiggle like it's loose or something. Is that... normal? I don't feel like it's normal. I ran a few Google searches and came up with nothing.

Following…My 2020 just developed this same thing. 25,000 miles, bought it new. It also makes noises now once you get past that quarter inch of free play. Not the infamous throw out bearing noise either. It’s nothing major im sure but it’s annoying.

Hmm, weird. I haven't noticed any noise other than the whine from the driveline (maybe pinion?). Only 18kmi on it though.

The noise you hear, is it while the pedal is moving or is it also while the pedal is stationary (like if you push it halfway in and hold it, does the noise continue or does it stop when your foot stops to hold pressure)?

Sitting in my truck as I read this post, I am pushing down the pedal. At the bottom of pedal travel, I feel no side to side movement. I hear the clutch switch engage ( a quiet click ). There is quiet sound of rubber squeaking from the pad and my boot. At the top, where the pedal rests there is a little side to side play. Nothing that I am concerned about in the slightest. I did it with the engine running and off. There was no difference. I have 58,000kms on my truck.

What I'm feeling is only in the first 1/4in of travel or so. It's like the pedal moves to the left at a 45deg angle for a 1/4in, then travels straight to the firewall like I would normally expect from there. It just... feels weird.

Have you taken a look? It's a bit awkward, but all the clutch linkages can be seen without taking anything off.
