Propane split?

I *think* this splitter is one of the items I need to split gas to a heater (mr. buddy, soon) and a stove (Coleman).

What else is needed, besides clamping the tank (15gallon?) to the bed rails?

Tank pressure varies depending on how full the tank is. Most propane appliances rely on a steady line pressure to operate properly. There must be a regulator in the line to maintain steady line pressure.

 

Personally, I would add a shut off valve to each branch for use when only one of the end units is installed as the spring loaded stem valves on the ends of the hoses are prone to leaking. Can be both an annoyance and safety issue.

 

Makes sense. I’m thinking of running propane for heat, stove and a Joolca hot water shower.

 

So if I understand correctly, you’ll need a regulator, and a T, with shut offs. Are there three-way splits (and I’d imagine 2 10-gallon tanks would be the way to go, for future fill/swap;but starting with one)? What other components are needed? Thanks!

 

Typically the regulator is part of the hose assembly at the attachment point to the propane tank, or is part of the attachment assembly to the unit being fueled. If you provide details/photos of the hose assy you are looking at and the various "appliances" it would be simple to tell you what you need.

 

Thanks; I haven’t purchased anything yet other than the already-owned Coleman basic stovetop with the hard line connector. So I’m open to ideas and shopping list suggestions. Many thanks!

 

When I camp I run a distribution pole attached to the top of the 20lb tank. It has 3 outlets including one on the top that is perfect for screwing a lantern into. I run a latern on top and a 10' hose for my Big Buddy heater (to reach inside my tent) along with a 5" hose for my stove. The lantern on top is like having a street light in camp.
