mine did it on both guns. It was only an nitial feed problem as if they wrent seated all the way. If a really slammed them on the bottom then they would engage and feed.

I found a 17 Designs upper to go along with the folder I bought a few months ago. I couldn't pass up the price. I want to throw a Cry Havoc QRB on it and have a "backpack" gun :D Thinking maybe an 8" 5.56 barrel.

I bought a safe from a LGS with their name on it but it's a rebranded Browning safe (still has Browning logo near the bottom of the door). I've had it for about 13 years and the only problem I've had with it is the outdated S&G electronic lock but that's not an issue with the actual safe. The numbers have to be pressed at a very specific cadence for the lock to open and sometimes it takes 2-3 tries to get it right. I need to replace it with a larger safe. I've about decided my next one will have a manual combination lock because of that issue but I would definitely buy another Browning.

Edit: I do have an RFID Gunbox for quick access to a G19 but the Gunbox is more for the kiddo than actual theft prevention so the G19 goes in the big safe any time we're not home. As a result I've used that lock AT LEAST twice a day for 13+ years. It hasn't ever actually failed which I think is impressive but it is frustrating to have to enter the code multiple times.

No experience with Browning. I do have Cannon and Liberty safes and they are both good to go!

I did this last night and learned an important lesson. If you have a lower receiver with a set screw for the takedown pin detent spring and you have a full length detent spring this method does not work. The length of the spring at full compression does not allow the detent to travel fully into the lower receiver so that the takedown pin can be rotated. After about 20 min of frustration I decided to just take the castle nut and end plate off and wound up trimming about 2 coils off of the spring so I could use this method in the future.

So, apart from the obvious...why would you need to have a gun that fires 5.56 rounds instead of .223?

I know NATO rounds pack more of a punch and all that but, both would stop an animal or person. Both go through pretty much whatever your shooting at. Now, if you’re active duty and in a warzone...that’s a different story.

    Educate me.

For me, I bought a 5.56 so that I could shoot 5.56 and .223. With a .223 barrel, you're stuck with .223. That's how I understood it when I first started buying anyway

    But, I did buy a 223 Wylde.....so........ :D

    A. You're probably seeing .223 Wylde chambering, not .223 Remington. Wylde is basically 5.56 NATO with tighter chamber specs (resulting in potentially greater accuracy at what I presume is a slightly, maybe even negligibly, shorter barrel life).

    B. 5.56 NATO (and .223 Wylde) can shoot 5.56mm NATO and .223 Rem safely. Rem-chambered rifles may or may not be able to shoot NATO safely.

Just ordered 5 of these knockoff SB3A braces. They even have "SB" on the end like the real ones. I just couldn't stomach paying $150 for a brace when I could get 5 for 1.
