I have had one with a $99 harbor freight porta band saw mounted on it for several years. One of my favorite shop tools. Changing blades on it is not fun, but with practice it gets easier.

In case your serious. The first reply was before I seen what the manual look like. The 2nd reply you quoted was after I looked at the manual.

The English section is like reading Japanese, nothing makes sense. I'm finding more answer to my questions online.

My sort of random new tool. Oil Filter Cutter. One of those things I've wanted for a long time, yet never bought. But with all our vehicles getting older and higher milage figured it was time to use up some rewards points.

I went with the Proform 66490 Oil Filter Cutter....mostly cause it was in stock and would show up in a timely manner.

But have to say it was nicely made and worked well. Cut was sharp and didnt bulge/dent the filter.

tested it out on the Tacoma's filter

    Gave a nice clean cut

So Im happy with the purchase. One of those things you dont really need but is nice to have around to possibly catch any issues early on

Update. I went back to Home Depot, they ended up exchanging it for another one.

    Does it sound................different?

Honestly I think I will buy a small compressor. But the ultra quiet ones at HF seem like the way to go.

Not sure on the HF ultra quiet ones, but for quiet I do enjoy California air tools compressor. Had it for years and it does well for most home owner stuff. Just another one for ya to look at

I need to get used to having my own air compressor. I need to learn and this compressor will be fine for now until I need something bigger.

I left the compressor at my sisters. I didn't try it at my sister just in case I trip a breaker, house is old. As soon as pick it up I'll post an update.

I used to always say that you can't have too much air power but with the explosion of battery powered alternatives to air tools maybe that's not true any more.

I have a 5HP/30 gallon/240V compressor and a 2HP/20 gallon/120V unit that are tied together into a single outlet. The big unit kicks in first and the small unit only comes on if the big one can't keep up with my use. I can't remember the last time I've heard both running at the same time.

    Cool.

This one: And this one: Great reviews, VERY quiet. Just for small stuff. When my old vertical LOUD Craftsman dies, Ima put a perma mount in an enclosed lean-to type over behind the shop.

Anybody have a recommendation on a good magnetic dial indicator? I'm putting in this Eaton locker with my FIL and he lost his.

The cheap Allstar has some bad reviews especially the arms to the base. The Noga seems to be moderately priced and I could add a decent dial. Can't see spending the money on a Tesa Brown.

    Any info appreciated

Thx for the info. I'm most likely getting a Noga base with a Mitutoyo dial on Zoro with a coupon. Really trying not to buy chinese tools especially with small tolerances in the gears.

So far I have a ton more space, nothing is screwed down, going to try different layouts before I commit. Also I’m going to have to figure out what to do with my extensions, should have kept the holders for them.

Going to have to get some more various holders for ratchets
