A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Last night this bad weather seemed to "form" just over central and western Mo. this storm was one of the fastest moving/forming severe weather systems I have seen. They turned our warning systems on and off twice. We went to our basement, and as quick as I got a weather (TV) station up, the conditions had changed to/from a Severe T-storm warning to all clear. After that I saw the storm line heading south toward the bootheel of MO (the one shown on the drone shots above), and the grouping of storms heading east about to slam St Louis area. My only hope was - God I hope it moves on and over them like it did here -sadly It DID NOT. There is terrible destruction in Mayfield KY. Mayfield is just across the Mississippi river from Sikeston MO. I hope those folks got to safe shelter in time!!??

ok, this is helpful. Apparently I need a pan to do this... Does 1 box do 1 layer? I'm thinking a double layer, Devils' Food chocolate cake with dark fudge icing. I need to buy a pan, or 2 if they're cheap enough.

As me being the household cake maker I have experience.
Yes 1 box will make a 2 layer round cake.
Follow the directions and you'll be fine.
Use the toothpick method to see if its done.
With the frosting, it spreads easier if you soften it using the microwave, just a few seconds. Don't forget to remove the foil cover.
Spray your pans with cooking spray.

I read where they believe it stayed on the ground for something like 227 miles. Longer then any tornado in history...

If you want simple just do a 13x9 rectangle. Any variety will do - metal or glass like Pyrex. Get fancy and get a set of 8 or 9 inch round spring form pans. One box will do one 13x9 or two rounds
    Don't forget to pre heat
Spray the pan with Pam or the like to make sure they don't stick
Let everything cool completely before you attempt to remove it from the pan and or frost it
Put the icing in your mixer and whip it up to make it a bit fluffier
Not at home right now but I have a cookbook to fancy up box mixes, you ditch the box instructions completely and it turns out so much better. I'll take a pic of a couple when I get home.

You ever try her stuff? Turns out awesome. she has a book dedicated to the gluten free mixes too, way better than the box directions

On the 9th I ordered a part for my 4wheeler plow. I have a Warn plow system. The place is called Montana Jacks Outpost. They have all sorts of Warn parts for trucks and utv/atv. Real good service. The part came today. Regular shipping though USPS.
    Just thought I'd share.

Yes, something good out of Montana

Where else would I store my nuts?

I bought OEM parts so I wouldn't get a Chinese knock off.

Label on the old one, made in Vietnam
Label on the new one, made in China

tonight is our Christmas Convoy light parade. they started it last year as a way to make up for some of the seasonal events that got canceled because of COVID. it was pretty impressive the turnout that they got considering it was a last minute sort of thing a bunch of businesses threw together.
will be interesting to see what everyone does this year since they've had time to plan better.
good thing for me is that the route runs right behind my place so i can watch from the comfort of home and not stand outside in the cold.
folks are already parking cars on the far side of the street in anticipation.
if i'm remembering correctly it took about 45 minutes for all of the rigs to drive by my place.
this is a recap of last years parade

I tell you, my family has a black cloud over it.

Yesterday, my sister went to visit my BIL at the rehab hospital and someone ran a stop sign (side roads that cross stop not her) and she T-boned them. Car is not good at all. Driver fender, hood, grille. Everything is shifted to the right. It’s a new Jetta.

    But wait there’s more…

Later, she gets to the rehab hospital and the social worker informs her that the medical insurance will no longer pay as of yesterday. He’s going to be discharged (probably Monday) but the hospital won’t let him out until the insurance gets a hospital bed at home for him.

Today, I was over her house and flipped the bathroom door to open out so that it can swing all the way open into the hall back on itself so the the wheelchair can get into the bathroom. All he needs now is a small ramp to get over the threshold into the bathroom. It’s partially made in my basement.
