So I went to pick up my Tacoma from the dealership today, and you will never believe what I saw out on the lot. Apparently it happened like this:

Last night a tow truck was dropping off a Toyota Sienna mini-van at the front of the service bay door, so it would be ready for the service this morning. According to the salesman that filled me in, the tow truck driver unhooked the van, locked the doors and then dropped the keys in the drop box. As he drove off in the tow truck, the van started rolling down the hill toward a row of new Corollas. So now the driver jumps out of the tow truck to stop the van, but he can't get in since he locked the doors and put the keys in the drop box. So the van ends up running into the front of a new Corolla. It didn't do much damage to the van or the car.

    It gets even better.

Since the tow truck driver was in such a hurry to try and stop the van from rolling, he forgot to put the tow truck in park or set the brake. So as he is running toward the van, his tow truck starts to roll off as well. The tow truck ended up picking up a pretty good amount of speed (judging from the damage to the Tacomas) before it hit the front of a Tacoma. It hit the brand new Tacoma hard enough to shove it into the brand new Tacoma that was beside it, and also into the brand new Tacoma that was behind it. The front of the first Tacoma is destoryed and it looks like the frame may be bent as well. Both doors on the second Tacoma as pretty much done. The bumber and tailgate on the third Tacoma are pretty much done as well.

I was trying my best not to laugh my ass off as the salesman was telling me what all happened. He said that everything was caught on the security cameras. I am definately going to keep an eye out on youtube and break to see if they show up. If I find the video, I will post it as well.

I wonder if I can get any cheap spare parts once the insurance has taken care of everything for them?

Here are a few pictures that I took with my phone:

I gotta admit, that's pretty funny. At least no one owned them yet.

    Too few to list.
The dealership will fix them and sell them as if nothing ever happened. The law allows for this. I believe it's something like if the damage does not exceed a certain percentage of the value of the vehicle, they are allowed to not disclose it to the buyer.

Very true! I picked up a 2004 frontier for $11,500 otd after haggling and well while doing my first oil change, I looked in the engine compartment to find a roll of masking tape wedged by the brake booster and a black inner fender that stuck out like sore thumb. Couldn't complain for what I paid for a new truck. I was later told by an ex employee that my truck a few months prior had rolled and smashed into the side of the building during unloading.

You would be shocked at the new cars around the world that get damage
and the dealer will fix them or take them to an auction and never say a word about it.

get those vin #s on those trucks so nobody on here ends up with one in acouple of weeks

The tow truck driver won't be out of work for long, the Toyota dealer will probably give him a job changing oil. Or some other oil-change place, he could definitely get a job at walmart.
