Which UCA is better..??

What up Amir? The Camburgs are a good choice To me they are almost identical to the Total Chaos. I just picked up some TC and installed them last Sat, and i love them!

 

Yeah nearly identical until you try to align them.

 

I've been told that TC has the best geometry set up for Toyota's in general. I went with Camburg because they are really starting to make a name for themselves, my buddy has their long travel kit with King coil overs on his Tundra, and because I got a smoking black friday deal on my kit. IMO you can't go wrong with any of the brands you have posted. However, the Camburg and TC owners here may agree that both will take any punishment you throw at them.

 

I think they've run Baja before... Oh, my bad.

The Truck Shop here said they went on well and that the alignment was easier to get perfect than most UCA's. They come in black but I had them powdercoated Bronze. So far a vibrations and wandering I had previously with the stock UCA's is gone. Really happy so far, want to get back out to the trails really so to break them in.

I have the total chaos UCA's on my tacoma with toytec's ultimate lift. Rides really nice, and so far there haven't been any problems. But all of those UCA's are quality products and you probably wont go wrong with any of them. good luck deciding!

TC UCAs are pretty loud too. I thought something was wrong/loose until I talked to a buddy who said thats just how it is...

Yup! The boxed UCA looks much better in my opinion. The welds give it a beefy built look.

 

Just to clear some things up here. The Camburgs do not incorporate as much caster as the TCs, but for those of you running 35"s this is good and bad. See the TCs add caster by shifting the top spindle mounting point back. this gives you more caster, but also moves your tires back and can create more body mount clearance Issues when running 35" tires. I have the Camburgs and we struggled to get 2.5* of positive caster out of them. We were adding caster at the bottom, which will help to pull the tire away from the body mount chop. even with a body mount chop i was still having rubbing issues. Mind you I had no issues before i added the spidertrax, but with the FJ and 4.5" BS wheels they were very tucked and it just drove me nuts. So, I went with spidertrax. Now the truck drove fine with only 2.5* of caster. I did have to find a good alignment shop to even get that much out of it. We could have got more caster out of the bottom cam bolts, but not without messing up camber. So, an arm like the light racing where you can work with camber up top, you would be able to get more caster adjustment out of the bottom by correcting the camber issues at the top.

so..... in conclusion the TCs will give you more Caster, but at the cost of moving your tire closer to the body mount. Which, depending on the wheel BS you are running, may not be an issue. Whereas, the Camburgs will give you less caster but keep your tire further away from the body mount.

The DSM UCA's must be more in line with the Camburgs. I have 285/70/17 KM2 and had not issues with hitting the body mount, but I had it chopped to be safe. There are a few local guys with the TC UCA's and they have had to do some serious chopping of the mount and the plastic surrounding it to not rub on 285's or a true 33" wheel for offroad use.
