What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I also replaced the OEM battery with an AGM from Canada energy, still a 24F and having 3 relays with constant power was still enough to drain it in two weeks. They got it back to full strength for me and I since put that circuit breaker in. Something I should have probably had between the battery and accessory fuses which I located all into one aftermarket fuse box. I don’t think the intention of the breaker is to pop it every time the trucks going to sit but that’s what I use it for.

 

My challenger and bmw both have quick disconnects on the batteries due to sitting for 8-10 months a year. I did think of putting a high output relay in for my audio system to cut power when the truck is off, but Im not sure if cutting power might harm my DSP.

 

Installed the caliraised behind the grill light bar brackets. Hidden lightbar bracket wont work anymore without some modification, it was just easier to get new brackets. I also bought the sdhq dual behind the grill brackets in case the caliraised didnt work.

I used the third slot on the new brackets but filled the holes a little deeper to get the bar a bit further back from the back of the grill. Perfect fit. And if you wondered, its still bright as hell even with some small bits of the grill in the way.

Grill can come on and off with the sso bumper no problem. With the light bar in there, it makes it an issue removing the grill. I trimmed off about an inch of material from the inside of the bottom of the grill. Some long useless piece of plastic gets trimmed, and no problem with instillation now. I hate stopping to take photos , sorry.


But, i wouldnt hesitate yo tell anyone to buy the behind the grill brackets, you still get plenty of light.

 

Absolutely keep these folks in you thoughts and prayers. At a time when we are looking for that perfect gift these poor souls are looking for their homes and loved ones. Such a heartbreaking time for my state.

 

Well so far they look nice lol I got 4 miles on Them since I just put them on.

 

What do you use for a disconnect? The only ones I know of are the heavy duty ones we use on our explosive trucks at work.

 

Just the cheap screw type ones like these. Since its off most of the year, it only gets turned on 1 or 2 times a year.

Those are neat, I’ve never seen the likes.

 

They work well, but if you have sensitive computers in the car it can cause problems. Both cars I have them in are 1973 and 1991 years, so computers are either not there, or very very minimal.

I’m trying to get 34’s on mine and I’m worried about being able to get the alignment right.

 

I got 265 70 17 on pro rims. With nitto ridge grapplers. 34’s are gonna be tight. Maybe CMC? I got no rubbing and still run the factory mud flaps.

 

Ok. Thanks, I’m actually looking into the CMR option instead. I know the 34’s are big and need a lot of room.

 

Just drive it once a week or whatever. Thats what I do and I work from home

 

The worse thing for a vehicle is is sit for prolonged periods of time. How about treating your Taco weekly with a drive by picking a coffee shop a 1/2hr away and get take out?

 

Live here in KY and yes lots of devestation and family losses. News hasn't even hit the rural areas yet, mostly Mayfield and Bowling Green reported..I feel the toll will grow worse once the rural areas are accounted for. Much prayer needed.
I am retired LEO and Volunteer FD and all the hospitals, 1st responders, heavy equipment operators and utility workers are already exhausted.

 

what about a remote start to just give it quick run each week? Just thinking out loud here. But this may not be an option, assuming it’s parked inside an attached garage to a dwelling.
