Have you seen how small the Bronco is? I had the opportunity to test drive one at an Adventure Expo but elected to test ride the Harley-Davidson Pan American instead.

If someone was interested in discussion they would have posted the information in this thread. Linking a video and getting suckers to click it, is the reason for comparing apples to oranges.

Speaking of Scout's and Bronco's. I spotted this rig parked this summer and pulled over for a closer look. It is a fully restored and upgraded 1979 model. The owner told me that he had a deposit on a new Bronco but ran across this instead. He canceled the order on the Bronco. I didn't ask how much it cost but based on the quality of the restoration and the upgrades a Bronco was probably cheaper.

I wasn't impressed. Not only was it a bit on the heavy side, it had too many bells and whistles that, IMHO, nobody needs for an adventure ride. Riding over a gravel parking lot it could not maintain a straight track (IIRC on Road mode). I don't think it is worth the very large MSRP they want for it. Specially since they already issued recalls on certain batches.

Personally, I am looking at either a V-Strom 650 or a KLR 650 instead. YMMV.

Would have been seriously interested in a Bronco pickup. Within a week of Ford confirming no Bronco truck and Nissan introducing the new Frontier with no MT, I was on the hunt for Tacoma.

I've had a 4runner loaner for two months while I wait for my Tacoma to get the brake light leak fixed.

I love the 4runner, I'll get one for the wife when inventories get more reasonable.

Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
For decades I was a Ford fanboy based on experience of my personal vehicles and work trucks. I have never bought and sold cars within a few years. I've always bought with longevity in mind and my last surviving '98 4WD Ranger is proof. 24 years old and still in great shape and my daily driver while my wife gets the Taco for a commuter till we find and buy our RAV4. I've had to shitcan 3 Fords in the last 7 years. First was bought back by Ford before I lemon-lawed them. I came out good so we bought another Ford. The second I dumped because of the way Ford handled a known issue of self destructing of the Ecoboost motor. Rather than fixing the problem. Ford's TSB just dialed back the boost on the turbo so it wouldn't destroy itself while in the warranty period so it just became the customers issue down the road. This is how Ford has chosen to handle poorly designed or improperly built vehicles.

On paper, everybody is gaga over the performance specs on the Ranger and the Bronco. Those pieces of shit will not survive half of the longevity of the Taco. If you're into dumping lots of money into a rig a number of years down the road, go for the Ford Ecoboost. They've cut their own throat, IMO. It's pretty safe to say after all these years, I'll likely never own another one. What's scary is they're actually one of the better built vehicles in the US market. Says a lot about the direction things are going.
