If those bottom gussets are that short,

the stress that normally goes to the front mounting bolts and fairlead will transfer to the back as the plate flexes at the front if the pull force is not straight,
and your gonna bend your plate the winch is mounted to.

Curb weight stock is about 2000Kg ... Then add the Russian factors ,so multiply mass by two, in your calculations for FEA.

good catch. I may remake those out of some bigger gussets. With his welds they shouldn’t be too hard to remove :p

Thank god. We will be able to use those for the rear bumper and parts of the front bumper. Then I’ll have to make something for the rest I guess.

Is 110 lbs over the axle sufficient for traction or should it be more?

Try it and see. Can always add more. I have never had to add anything but my shitbox is heavy though.

Pretty light in the rear though. Most of the weight is up front.

I add a 100-150lbs Leer topper, and 100lbs of winter safety/recovery stuff that I carry always (unless I foresee needing the sq ft). Even when it’s just the topper I find it’s sufficient on most days considering the limitations of Duratracs.

I have them but I haven't used them in a couple years. I don't generally hit patches of ice where I ride (Christie/turkey point/Redhill/ Dundas valley) and if I do, so be it. If I was specifically going to ride on the street/rail trail or a lake then I'd switch over but I run tubeless so it's a lot of work. My studded tires are worth like $400 lol.

I put a 50lb patio stone over my axle for the winter. Also swap out OEM rims for steel rims with winter rated tires.

Fyi, I believe all aftermarket remote starts also shut the engine as soon as the driver's door open.

Fyi, my daughter has a 2021 RAV4 TRD OR and has confirmed that although she can start it with the app, she can also start it with 3x clicks of the lock button on the key fob.

Oh dude, you are right were I am then! I'm in Dundas.
I ride Christie a lot and also help out with the maintenance there via the HBMBA club.
We should do a TEC MTB ride at some point :)
