That was in Colorado Springs. Can’t find the third now. So two shootings and a machete wielding asshole.

I would much rather take my chances on an OEM Alternator from the Junkyard before messing with the remanufactured Parts Stores stuff.

@Waasheem , I think his post is worth reading again, about a bad ground or even dirty battery terminals could be the culprit.
As far as the Karen:rofl:my wife had a bad day today inside our local Walmart:rofl:

I've seen Toyota alternators last a long long time, way more than 11 years and 143k miles. Gotta be a turd in there now and again I reckon.

And to think, I thought my alternator was fine less than two months ago; I should've gotten the little bastard replaced when the frame job was done!

    :annoyed:

I actually cleaned my battery terminals today as a matter of course; Truck is presently connected to a trickle charger in my garage so it can be moved under it's own power if need be...

She's got balls. Gotta respect that.

Charlie....it would have been best to sit in the parking lot and talk on the phone. Doesn't matter what the law says. Also, that white line indicates that you're moving into to a potential on coming traffic situation. It should ideally be a stop...but should be at least treated as a yield. It would seem that traffic turning into that area would have right away over the person at the white line (you).

I would even suspect a turd battery as a possibility before the alternator. I think that's why so many who posted emphasized getting the alternator checked.

I would get the alternator tested. If you do need a new one, I would get the most amp output you can afford. On my TJ the factory alternator went out (90amp) and I upgraded it with a durango 160A for the same price.

Then yes, I would have proceeded ahead too. I’ll bet she sped up when you went too. The true definition of a Karen. I am special, everyone must bend to my selfish needs.

Back when I still would go to autozone, their warranty was lifetime. My first alternator from there worked fine for awhile, then it would stop working until I got jump started. Same thing 6 months later, and again and again more frequently until about 5 times a month. So I took it out, brought it to the store, the jackass put it on the tester and said nothing wrong with it. I told him what it’s doing. He says well it’s working now, put it back in. I refused to back down, turned into a screaming match 1/4” from his nose. He finally caved and slammed a replacement down. That one did the same in less than a year. Took it out, brought it back. This time a friendly girl is the manager. She says the computer says I returned it for a refund. Which means the jackass entered it as a return and pocketed the cash. Luckily their part number sticker was still on it. That was the last time I entered a autozone. That’s why I say good luck with yours.

I am having a hard time finding a direct drop-in replacement with more than the OEM 80 amps; I was gonna buy a 130 amp, but money wasn't the issue. The damn thing didn't fit my truck!

I know; You're totally right, Bill. I generally don't talk on the phone at all while driving, and especially not without Bluetooth (or just putting my iPhone on speaker when the Bluetooth isn't working). It was just a stressful situation and I didn't need some third party interloper giving their opinion; I was tempted to respond with "Not if you were the last woman on earth", but I didn't and that's probably for the best...

I dealt with this shit at a Mavis Discount Tire regarding a road hazard warranty; They had no record of a warranty I paid sixty bucks for, and they wanted to charge me like $600-$700 for a set of Cooper Discoverer AT/3s about a year ago. I walked out and got the tires I wanted from my mechanic for $430 (after a manufacturer rebate)!

You will have to research this, but I remember once reading about a GM alternator fitting into the 2.4L trucks and working well. Not sure if the pigtail is the same or some wiring splicing that needs to be done.

How was she to know your situation? From her perspective she saw someone pull out in front of her while talking on the phone.

Your "Azzburgers" makes it difficult for you to quickly evaluate things sometimes (you know this). So when you find yourself in stressful situations, pull over, take some deep breathes and chill for a few. Never operate a motor vehicle when you're emotional state is anything but normal

a good response to really torque them...say "are you offering?" Or shoulda said Merry Christmas!

Most likely its alternator. Just make sure they test it before give it to you.
