Exhaust for 2011 Tacoma

I am new to this but am very excited to modify my truck First week I tinted the rest of the windows. Second step in a few months is getting new tires and rims! But before I do that I was thinking of getting new exhaust or getting a new muffler. Please let me know if you have any advice for me! Which is better??? Ive heard really good reviews on the TRD Catback exhaust? Let me know all information! Thanks!

 

Too expensive for what you are going to get, I picked up my Magnaflow pro series offroad cutback from Planet Magnaflow for 245.00.

 

how does the exhaust sound?? im lookin for one too... but dont want that loud annoying sound or too too loud for that matter... is it a dual pipe??

 

I like the TRD or the Dynomax super turbo mufflers the best.
Sound really good! not too loud, nice and mellow and deep, and quiet when just cruising..

 

It's louder than stock because of the free flowing muffler and because it dumps into a turndown tip before the rear axle. There is no annoying drone at cruising speeds. Combined with my AEM brute force intake when you punch it at 4,000 rpms it really starts to sound mean. I really like the exhaust because it sheds alot of weight and it has more offroad clearance.

 

awesome.. i;ll be researching for some exhausts... what would you guys run?? dual pips coming out ?? or single out?? and if dual, one left on right out the sides or..one left one right out the tail?

 

If you are just looking for more sound and better flow, cut out your stock muffler and weld in a new one of your choosing retaining the stock mandrel bent exhaust tubing. Alot of people have a new exhaust fabbed up but the more bends in the tubing, the more restrictive it will be.

 

I swapped out my stock exhaust for a magnaflow, and after a week, I am putting the stock one back on.
Its just way too loud, and drones fairly bad, and only really sounds good at idle, or over 4K rpms.

I would love to find an exhaust thats not really louder than stock at all, just deeper.

I just put on a cerrybomb muffler, cheap and sounds good to me. Just a little louder than stock and no drone at 75mph

 

The best way to go would be to pick the muffler of your choice and have it welded in place of your stock muffler. Then have a nice tip welded or clamped onto your stock tubing. I like the magnaflow and the dynomax superturbo muffler's. Thats the cheapest way to go.

I got a Flowmaster 50 for my DCLB and I like it, not much drone at all on the highway and has that nice growl on start up and around town.
