The short version ;). I developed a vibration, more of a wobble, when I had my tires rotated. I got them tested on the Hunter radial balance machine and found out my tires were 'out of round' the run-out was 36/38lbs, acceptable is about 22lbs. I took it to the dealer while the tires were still under warranty, the service writter gave me a BS line about being over the milage limit for the warranty, when there actually isnt one. I complained to the writer, service manager, sales manager, attempted 6 times to contact the general manager. Decided to replace the tires myself and complain to Toyota Coporate. Got a call from the 'customer service agent', returned that call and made my complaint, she advised she would look into and contact me. The service manager then contacted me and offered to replace the tires on my truck, I advised him I'd already purchased upgraded tires, he then said Toyota will reimburse me for the tires and would get back with me. So now I'm just waiting authorization for them to send me a check and see how much they are going to pay.

So now I have Nitto Terra Grappler 265/70/17 on Moto Metal 957B all from 4 Wheel Parts, who had excellent service and quick installation, saved $$$ also!

    Here is my new shoes!

I too read the whole thing. Foxy, I feel your pain. I had a Yukon at one time that had bad tires from the start. After MANY trips to the dealership for alignment, tires, etc..., I finally got them to buy me a new set of BFG A/Ts (not the stock Firestones). Then, two of them weren't any good either.

They told me that a vehicle can't make a tire go bad, but I find it hard to believe that 6 out of 8 tires were bad, so I didn't believe them. I finally traded that piece of sh!t in for my '06 PreRunner a couple of years ago. I now have an '09 4x4. Taco FTW! :)

For the record - that Yukon was the most comfortable vehicle I've EVER owned - plsuh leather, etc... But, it was still a piece of sh!t!!

But I wouldn't trade my firm-riding, lifted Taco for a Cadi any day!

:typing: Yeah well I edited it for content, I was a little  when I wrote it. So anyway an update or 2, the dealership decided to deny the reimbursement a week later, so I made a complaint with Toyota Corporate. Well the experience with them was not great either, they originally told me they were going to give the dealership a chance to make it right then they would take care of it. I knew the dealership was not going to give in and of course they didn't, so back to Corporate thinking they would stand by their word to handle it themselves. Of course not, they denied my claim based on 'no documentation' of the problem which was complete BS since the dealer had refused to check my tires for a problem which was the basis of my complaint, but I had them tested myself before going to the dealer and had the documentation. So I sent a 2nd letter, copy of the 1st and copies of all my documentation to the Toyota Corporate Reimbursement Department and now my check is in the mail!! :D

You should see the letters I sent to Toyota Corporate!
Check should be here after Christmas .
Persistence pays off in the end. Even if Corporate tells you they can't/won't help you, don't give up there.
Now I'm going to send a letter to the owner of Fletcher Jones Toyota and the GM at the dealership, give them a chance to make it right. But the dealership still received a negative notice from Corporate.

Glad it worked out. I went through mostly the same stuff but just stayed at the dealer level. Eventually I just said F* it and went to discount tire. Got them pro-rated under bfg's warranty and paid the diff on my AT KO's.

    :) Thanks.

:D Glad you got your issued solved easier than mine. I was told at the dealer that my warranty was expired, so I didn't take them to another tire shop. I found out that my warranty was not expired after I purchased my tires/rims, then I contacted the dealership again reference giving me false information. I'd already made a complaint at the dealership when I asked them to test my tires and they refused. They said they would pay then went back on their word, so I took it to Toyota. Toyota Customer Service did a poor job of investigating and following up, so I took it higher than customer service.

I just wanted to make the information available for anyone who is having issues with the Dunlops and wants to know how to get the dealer to replace the tires since 'ride complaints' are not covered under the warranty. Hopefully Toyota will get enough complaints about the Dunlops and will stop using them.

I was at the dealer today and checked out their inventory, all the trucks have different tires on them regardless of model/package. There were 09 TRD sports with BFG, Bridgestone and even 1 with Dunlops!
