Still looking for a rooftop solution? I think this is in your neck of the woods - https://www.kijiji.ca/v-water-sport...livator-kayak-rack-lowering-system/1595738076
More than I'd want to pay for a spare tire mount but I guess you could sell off the bits you don't need to recoup some of the cost.

Hey guys, long shot here, does anyone happen to know of someone selling a 6' tonneau cover for a 3rd gen? Friend of mine just bought a new to him truck, would like something cheaper. I've checked kijiji, but nothing really stood out

would a 2nd gen one fit?
I bought a cap for my 18 when I get it I won’t need the the cover I got
(The 18 I bought came with a cover)

scratcht the 2nd gen I don’t think it will fit it barely fits my 2nd gen

Action truck told me 4-6 weeks if this is true I should be getting it next week or after

Thank you so much for the reply! I get the feeling he is wanting something made specifically for the 3rd gen. It's his first Tacoma so I get where he's coming from

no worries , true dat I’ll post picture later of the one for the 3rd gen it’s not in the bestist shape when I bought the truck I told the dealership I didn’t want the cover but they left it on anyway

I want to keep it until I have my cap then I’ll be getting rid of

I’m hoping this month I’ll have the cap this is the 5th week waiting so fingers crossed I should hear next week

I'll forward the pictures onto him, thanks!!
Want to pick the tech gurus brains for a sec. So, I may or may not have sank my truck about a month ago, not super deep, but grateful I have a snorkel. Ever since my.truck starts like shit, if at all. I'm thinking starter because I have lots of power, and when I turn the key it's a faint *click* rather than the horrible sound of a dead battery trying to turn it over. If I hold the key forward for, oh, we'll say approx. 4 or 5 seconds, it may actually kick in and turn the engine over. Could it be water in the starter? Maybe dirt got into the plugs?

I may or may not have sunk my truck this past year as well... my starter went but it was starting to go beforehand so can't say for sure sinking it killed it. Haven't had any other issues but I spent a long time drying and cleaning her out afterwards.

What is this sinking you speak of!?!
I'm not even going to bother pulling my carpet out, it's going to stink now that winter is here, and I have BIG bags of desiccant in there now, about 60lbs worth, it does an alright job of keeping the windows from being too covered in condensation. Now that I've driven the truck a fair amount since, I can go into a store and come back out and it will start. When the sinkening first happened it was strictly point A to point B, don't shut the truck off or you're staying for a couple hours

Oh and how bad is it that I only just realized that's you Garth? lol

It's actually about the same as yours was, only tipped the other way, half way up my PS door speaker, I could smell something electrical when it happened, but things seem to still be working as of now.

When I did that same thing I propped the carpet up with a stick and ran a dehumidifier inside with the doors closed for a day. Dried it right up

When I swamped the truck I pulled the carpet, pressure washed it at the Rubber duck, then hung it in the boiler room at work for a few days!
