EDIT: A decent number of good actors. I had zero idea what the movie was. Bullock may get some award for her performance - but also stars Shane and John Boy. Man what a thing. You'll see what she absorbed. Indescribable.

The Man Who Came for Christmas - 1942. Funny, odd, kind of oddly entertaining HBO Classics (Christmas row)

The Shack - I cried. Sorry fellows. Some parallels in my spiritual journey. Christian movie on Netflix (I'm sure many won't like it, but I like how the Son says he has no time for religion). Otherwise the holy trinity are not what you think. Everything is just a represented concept - cognitive spiritual content.............the gal who plays the Holy Spirit is quite lovely. Jesus is a cool kat. God is a couple characters. Forgiveness is the theme.

The Landscapers - Episode 1 - HBOMax. Well done. Serious ass comedy once you study the characters. Kind of strange fascinating.

 

An FYI for all those watching Wheel Of Time...under the Prime "X-Ray" section of the episodes there are short animated segments that go into more of the backstory of some of the tales they have glossed over or severely truncated in the series. I did not know these existed until last night when a buddy told me about it at a Christmas party.

In addition there are a number of interviews with Sanderson, Harriet and others. Details on set locations and the "world building" process.

Also I heard Sanderson referred to this series as "a turning of the wheel"...meaning it may not be exactly like the one we read so many years ago. Kind of a cop out to me, but this allows them the latitude to change the story for a current day audience.

 

Streaming "The Dark Tower" series on Audible. Halfway through the 3rd book right now, and this series has been great so far!

“News of the World”, Tom Hanks, HBO. Good family viewing. A small redemption story. Recommended.

Watched "Encounter" last night. Netflix. Hmmmmmmmmmm.....they did NOT put this movie in the correct category. Not a terrible movie, but not great either. We get it. 6/10.

Does anyone have the IMDb TV app on their Apple TV? It says it's available for install on it on the IMDb website but no where on the App store.

 

Episode 2 came out.................OK this shit is weird. Not sure to laugh or cry. Episode 1 was better, but I went into this thinking they didn't do it..............so now it's a ball of BS...............
