Not sure how or why that team fell off so hard. They play no defense at all lol. And their firepower has really dropped off. A couple years ago all of their young stars were ripping. Green is a good coach but I guess you have to make that move. Bruce is a good coach too though, so see what happens.

Also, not sure exactly what was going on in the Jets/Leafs game, as I only saw highlights. But PLD was straight rag-dolling Matthews and he just did nothing. I'm sorry but at some point you need to stand up for yourself. That was pitiful. I'm not even a big fan of fighting in the game but you have to show some nuts when someone is embarrassing you. Having grown up watching Pens star players get abused, whether it be Marion, Sid, Jagr, Geno etc. They all dealt with it, but at some point they all either fought or gave a cross-check back or something. I dunno. Just my opinion.

Game was out of hand in the first after the Leafa rookie backup gave up 3. Refs put away the whistles for a bit and it caused tons of issues later. Terrible officiating is just the standard of the NHL.

Ya absolutely. It was pretty much a shit show. But I just wish Matthews would just give someone a gloved punch or a cross check, just something to show some fire. Because when it gets rowdy, he gets clowned and never responds.

I'm okay with him laughing it off. He has major recurring wrist issues. He doesn't need to punch anyone. The Leafs have Simmonds/Spezza/Clifford/Kase for that. Too be fair two of those players absolutely wrecked Poink after the no call knee.

I wasn't able to watch the Pens- Caps game last night, thanks to ESPN. I already stream multiple services and can't see paying for ESPN+ for the 4 games the Pens will play exclusively on their streaming service. My cable charges a monthly fee for AT&T Sports, Pittsburgh already. I just watched the highlights on the NHL Network and checked out the box score on ESPN. That will have to do since I am tired of spending money on devices, streaming services, cable, cell phone, internet, etc. Sorry for the bitch session.

Conner McDavid meets Sebastian Aho. Canes beat Oilers 3-1. Aho scores 2 goals, Fredrick Anderson denies McDavid. Whoooo! :D

Enjoy Andersen in the playoffs. They'll be a lot less of that and a lot more of 4th liners scoring on him from below the goal line.

He’s doing quite well now that he has a solid defense backing him up, stats much better than when he played for the Leafs ;)
As far as playoffs, same applies to Jack Campbell assuming the Leafs make it to them.
Appreciate the spell check, really matters in Hockey talk on a forum lol

Like I said, enjoy the regular season performance.

Campbell didn't give up any floaters to the Habs. In fact he forced two overtimes in games the Leafs were outplayed. As someone whose watched that goalie a lot, he's going to cause you a heart attack come April. Did with the Ducks, did with the Leafs, and will with the Canes. That or he'll just get hurt and sit.

Spelling matters, there's something like 5-6 Anderson/Andersen last name players in the NHL.

lol jacked up aren’t you :D
Only one Anderson/Andersen plays for the Canes, and only one Frederick Anderson/Andersen in the NHL. Have fun with your spell checking though lol.

Have fun with your white trash D and aging regular season superstar goalie

I really hope that the Canes grab Kane like rumored. It would be the 2021 trifecta.

I think you mistake my comments for saying the Leafs are a better team. Right now I have the Canes going deep in my playoff picture. They're a great team and if the moron we've discussed many times can avoid his natural tendencies to become a Kane like wart on his team, he's in the running for the Norris. Andersen is playing unreal but between the knee and groin issues any fan would question him posting a .930 for much longer when he's historically a .910 guy, even on Ducks teams that had some of the best D at the time. The Canes roll three very talents lines and a solid D. Coaching is good and team leadership seems good too, though as mentioned I worry long term with some of their new stars being noted flakes in the past.

The Leafs also run three lines, though Marner being out shows how critical it is for the big four to be in the lineup. Reilly signing for 6.8 million long term shows the locker room is tight. They've become bigger up front without getting slower. Kase, Kampf, and Ritchie have all worked out which no one expected and I do expect one, probably Ritchie, to regress again. Campbell is a great starter and I like that he seems like he's on the team 100%. Andersen's deadfish on ice persona was great at first for showing ice in his veins but watching him have no interaction with his team beyond that was always an issue I think for the younger players. The Leafs playoff future will be dictated by their first round matchup. If they draw Florida they'll be out in the first. I have the Panthers in the finals from the East at this point in the season. Same could be said for the Canes if they draw the Caps in the first round by some negative miracle.

Honestly think the Leafs are an excellent team, the next time the Canes play them only time will tell who wins. Agree Florida is a big challenge, for any team that plays them. Too early in the season to make predictions, for the Canes their scoring has come in spurts for example.

TBH I wasn’t thrilled with the Canes goalie picks so Andersen’s play so far has been a nice surprise. Jack Campbell’s play for the Leafs has been excellent as well.

Totally justified. I feel the same way. I was bitching a while back about not being able to see as many games this year, in general, because of how ESPN has most of the games on there. So that is what it is. I watch highlights or NHL Tonight instead. But when you can't watch your local team without paying for the app, that is total bullshit. If you are paying a cable service for all of the sports channels, which include the ESPN channels, then you should at least be able to watch your local team.
