I haven't looked into remote start systems because 3rd gen warms up noticeably quicker than 2nd gen. But that's shitty. Surprised no one has come up with a bypass yet.

And 3rd gen has the electric coil heat on cold days, not sure if 2nd gen did or not...

Have 3rd party remote on wife's 06 rav4 and you can open the door, just cannot touch brake pedal before putting key to 'run' or it'll shut down

My 3rd gen cold weather autostart consists of CSC and go back inside...

The N2 Design module takes 15 min to install and is worth not having to go out and start 1st.

I usually CSC start from the passenger door (so I don’t drop snow on the drivers seat), then brush/scrape the truck for 30s-5mins, and then depart. I would take heated mirrors over remote start. Scraping those effr’s is such a pain. Seat warmer is cheaper to run on a daily basis than remote start. And my butt prefers cheaper.

I know there are options...I work from home so if it's too cold to go out and fire it up I don't go anywhere...and if I HAVE to,I take the remote start rav4

Cides, heated seats on scrotum burn lvl 3....I'd be turning on the airco

I find it hilarious that heated seats at lvl 3 is excruciating, reverse in MT is excruciating...and the tilt/Tele of the steering column is excruciating in the opposite sense

@Norilsk I think I saw today the solutions to your toyota related financial problems. Short wheelbase unimog with 42's(?), portal axles and a tray.

Yep soft top. Your Tacoma is currently on a exponential trajectory of yearly costs. If you look at it in terms of ROI that's like 2 years to break even.
