Has anybody tried running the ABS kill and the alternative locker anytime modifications, with a single switch? I've all ready done the ABS kill, was thinking just splitting the switched ground and running it to the 4Lo switch wire. There's some very sharp people here, somebody must have tried this before. Don't want to let the smoke out!

I haven’t had my truck locked in a while. But I think the ABS is disabled automatically in 4LO?

I honestly can’t remember. I never run 4Lo much. So I don’t pay much attention.

ABS is not disabled in 4 Low but traction control (09 & up) is, ABS is disabled only when the rear diff is locked.

    I couldn’t remember.
And I don’t have Traction Control. So I didn’t know about that.

Which reminds me, I need to put mine in all 4WD modes.
It’s been awhile since I tried any of them.

what’s the need here? Once the locker is engaged the ABS is disabled. The functions are congruent.

I've already done the ABS kill switch. Was looking into doing both jobs without another switch or relay. Just looking for an alternative for activating the locker anytime. I bought the Radio Shack relay wo/the internal LED. But I'm one of ,THOSE PEOPLE, that would rather not cut a bunch of wires! Belive I've read every Lock Anytime thread several times.

All the logic for the locker is handled internally by the 4WD ECU it will only allow the locker to work when it's in 4 low, there's no way around it without externally controlling the locker.
Does it make sense since the 2wd trucks can lock in 2wd... no but that's how Toyota chose to do it.
It would be nice if someone made a plug and play solution like there is for 2 low but I haven't seen one yet.

You can replace that switch you have for the ABS kill with a DPST, and use the second pole to activate a DPDT relay. In that manner, you will rid yourself of the need for the OEM locker switch as well.
