Searched elsewhere but found no answers. I’m an electrical newbie.

I recently, off Craigslist, acquired a prinsu rack with a 42” cali raised dual function light bar (amber/white). Dude who sold it included a wiring harness with two leads for non-oem style switches for each color - different from current Cali raised dual harness which has one lead for one switch with two buttons for amber/white.

I ordered the Cali raised dual function switch thinking it would be an easy job. But I don’t know how to wire this switch (blue/red/black/yellow/green) to the two separate amber and white switch leads (black/blue/white wires) on the harness that came with my deal. The included harness looks different than the harness currently available from Cali raised so their instructions aren’t helpful.

    Any help is greatly appreciated

Cali raised responded to me with the following diagram. I still don’t know how, even if these wire designations are correct, to connect the switch to the other two switch leads. Anybody? 89B44CC7-12CF-4936-9B2E-536D07A6846F.jpg

I'm going to take a wild guess and say your 2 black go to #3 black, your 2 white go to #5 red, your blue (amber) goes to #1 blue and your blue (white) goes to #2 green.

But I would double check with the pros here.

ps you'll have to cut the connections off your two white and amber and make pigtails of the six wires like on the switch and connect them obviously

Then there’s this from CH4x4 which is exactly like the wires coming out the back of the Cali raised switch. Printed out and overlayed Cali switch for reference 4142A59B-66CF-45FC-87E2-8EAAE4F132DD.jpg

They're the same wires. They probably use the same source as CH4X4 or them directly. I think the switch in the picture on paper is a rocker that tilts up and down (nevermind i see it's actually two)

Thanks! Can I just use crimp connects for the wires? Sorry nothing is obvious to me when it come to wiring. Also, how would you wire up the ch4x4 one that more closely resembles the Cali switch?

Sure splice, crimp, shrink tube/good elect tape and you'll be fine. Make sure there's no power going to whichever wires while you're working. The two switches are the same, the printed logos on the front are just different.

And I'm pretty sure you're going to need a relay or two or you'll fry the switch. They're really affordable

ok. The harness that came with the amber/white Cali bar have two built in relays with fuses.

Given that the ch4x4 and Cali wires are different than the configuration you made a guess on, would you wire them differently?

It looks like the switches are the same. You'll have your six wires to connect to four wires on the switch. The yellow goes to dash circuit if you want it on with the dash lights.

Add-a-fuse to any IGN source (12v Accessory) so switch is not always "hot".
Yellow goes to any switch illumination wire (Green)
Black to selected switch illumination wire (Beige)
Insulate/tape off remaining wires from each relay INDIVIDUALLY.

@kmorgan3 might have the intercept harness for sale.
With it, you don't cut any wires on the vehicle.

I recommend reaching out to Cali directly if you have any issues... I just ordered this, plus the harness, plus the switch from them 2 months ago. After two harnesses and two switches, and about 30 back and forth emails I ended up working out a refund with them because it failed to function as advertised. While the light/switch combo did eventually work, they had admitted errors in manufacturing of both the harnesses and switches which mixed up the wiring requirements. I ended up eventually finding a combination that worked but at that point was so frustrated at time wasted on what was to be a plug and play kit that I wanted to send it back. Also, the light bar with the "custom" prinsu mounts was oriented towards the sky, which was not very useful. Looking at your first image, that light looks like it may be aimed a little high as well, it doesn't work out to adjust it down. While I was impressed with the companies customer service, the product was incredibly poor, and not as advertised.

Long story short, good luck, if you have any issues with the diagrams others have posted, it could be a lack of QC on the harness or switch and reaching out to CR or trying different combos of wiring might help..

I agree with esteener on the "Custom" Prinsu mount for this lightbar from Cali. Without modification the lightbar points to the sky and there is no way to adjust it lower without modding/replacing parts of the kit. Really pissed me off the amount of time I spent making this "Plug and Play" kit work properly.
