Who's going to be the first to rock a set of TRD Amateur emblems?

Honestly not feelin' it. I'd keep the stock emblems, but I guess to each their own.

Damn, I just realized that If I ever got a Sport/Pro hood, and removed my TRD emblems at the rear of my OR, people would think I'm rocking a PRO. I also have the Grill.

@DingleTower Are you doing the rear quarter panel badges, or replacing the door badges?

My truck didn't come with any decals on th e rear quarter.

The TRD badge on the door replaced the TRD Pro badge in the same spot.

I'm leaving the badges on the tailgate in place.

Even without badges it's pretty easy to tell a Pro from another trim.

I think less is more. I mean it has TACOMA stamped in the tail gate. I also never liked advertising that I had a "special-er" than normal anything. Cleaning around emblems and vinyl stickers is a PITA too.

what ever you remove (badge or decal) will not have ceramic coat on the bare paint afterwards. That’s the real problem, the removal of both will be the same as without ceramic coat.

I love the B58 engine and the quality of the Supra. Glad BMW was able to help, albeit the car is arguably less unique.

That very much depends on the type coating used. There are a myriad of vastly different products out their that call themselves “ceramic coating”. Some would be simple, others kind of a pain, but yes it can absolutely be done in all cases, it’s simple a question of time and therefor cost.

awesome, thank you. i guess ill contact my dealer and figure it out from there. it kinda comes into my mind now, what do you guys think of ceramic coatings? did i fall for a scam or is it worthwhile? from what i understand, it seems worthwhile on a forever truck, which is what i want this truck to be.

Are you sure about that? I would imagine they put the ceramic coating before the emblems. I took off all my badges the day I took my truck home. I do it with all my cars. Never once had an issue. Even did it on a 3 year old BMW and there was no issue with discoloration. But I imagine doing it to a car that is in the sun everyday without a garage would fade after a few years

Unless is misread the post, I very much doubt that. Truck is delivered with emblems and stickers, dealer / owner does ceramic coating, they are not removing and re-applying stickers and emblems to ceramic coat.

Nothing to do with paint fade, more to do with seeing a different color “patch” in certain lights. If someone paid for decent ceramic coating they obviously care about the finish and will probably notice a “dull spot” or slightly different shaded spot, simply due to the coating and light reflection not due to different color paint.

i imagine the emblems are applied by factory, are they not? and ceramic coating was applied by the dealer, so i assume the ceramic coating is over the stickers and emblems.

Oh yea I misread and just assumed you were talking about the clear coat of the pain job. Yea you’re definitely right that any ceramic is at the dealer and the emblems are not taking off and put back on.
