I ordered from Aquasure directly. No tax, free shipping, and 10% off right now. Otherwise it's 5% off for all new customers. We have the same 48k Aquasure in our rental. Very happy with it.

FYI , keep an eye on those filter buckets . I had the exact same ones . One of them failed , the plastic got a stress crack around the fixed portion the tub threads into from the rotational force from tightening the filter bucket with the plastic wrench . Took about 8 years , luckily I was home , heard a loud bang and then a fountain of water at full pressure in my crawlspace

Yep, I cook with the filtered and softened water from the sink. No issues with taste.

Our plumber at work told me to only tighten by hand and the wrench is for loosening. That's what I've been doing for years and it's been fine. Makes them a lot easier to get off too - once I tightened with the wrench and broke the wrench trying to loosen it next time around.

Septic inspection was already done before the scheduled time that we got there this morning. Nothing looked too bad as we didn't get an immediate call. So, now it looks like just the appraisal and more paperwork form hereon there-out...

Now that it's pretty much official, I'll post some pics!

Yup, system is set at 40-60 PSI and it's in line. It's a 10" in line filter made by Culligan, same design as what was pictured. But, the fact that it's a different model by a different company could definitely make a difference.

huh , interesting , the rubber "o ring" on the top of the charcoal filter in my case would not seat fully in the canister without about a 1/4 turn with the wrench past hand tight . If I didn't do that the filter canister would not fully engage the main o ring and water would leak out between the fixed base and top of canister threads , on both sides , sediment filter and charcoal filter

I do go pretty much as tight as I can by hand, not just snug or anything. But previously I was going a quarter to half turn past that with the wrench and it made it tougher to get off later. Even after relieving pressure from the system, it feels a lot tighter when I am removing it to change the filter a month or two later.

I started. Give it another 24 hours. I actually should have put crushed rock in front to start. Wife was already yelling at me for dragging mud in. Hahaha

Thats pretty much what i do with our filters (of that type). Get them snug by hand (like spin it till it hits resistance) then a 1/4ish turn.

Seems to mostly depend on how old the O-Ring is. Ive changed ones that people have never changed the O-Ring and those things were way to tight to stop leaks.
