Hey guys, I purchased these headlights from ebay a little while ago, and just recently I washed the truck and they have been foggy ever since. As you can see from the photo there is quite a bit of water condensed on the inside, anyone know what I can do to fix this? Is removing the headlights and then tearing into them the only way to fix the moisture issue? Thanks

You might check to see if the big rubber boot that goes around the headlight bulb is seated correctly. And then make sure the marker and turn signal builds O-rings are tight.

Other than that, I don’t know what else to tell you. Normally it’s the housing and the best fix is new housings.

I got a set off Amazon and so far they are fine. :fingerscrossed:

Take them apart and reseal them or purchase a decent quality headlight.

Check the top seems for leaks, you should be able to plug any of them with aquarium type silicone.

you’ll have to take the headlight out and bake it to get all the condensation out. You def don’t want to seal them back up with that in there.

Try throwing a bag or two of silica gel packs.

I apply silicone on every set of aftermarket lights or fog lights I buy. No idea why they are so inconsistent on actually sealing. It’s always been hit and miss so I just avoid it and seal them all.

am Pro grille w/lights, black tailgate letters, black badging, 265-70-17 Duratrac "c", Rear seat platform,
You can also wipe out as much moisture as possible and place a few small desiccant bags in through the bulb opening. I've used the same ones I buy for my gun cabinets/safes. I've also seen people use hair dryers to dry them out. A common issue is aftermarket bulbs not sealing well enough or housings that are just not sealed tight from years of being jostled around.

yeah, I guess if you’ve got to bake them anyway, you should open them up and make sure that the outer lens is clean.

I 2nd applying silicone around the housings. I have these exact housings. Have had them for 2+ years with no issues. I did seal them up when new with silicone. To dry them out place them inside on a heat vent or near a dehumidifier if you have one. Make sure all bulbs are removed. They will dry out in a day or so.
