Best intro to a game IMO, so we'll done for the time the "light blinding you when you enter the world" styling has been copied ad nauseum since then

    So, interesting plot twist here.

In a move that can only indicate my ... stupidity, I suppose ... I finally crawled under my truck this morning to verify the various sensors before I ordered the one missing (84222-35090) from this t-case that I picked up yesterday. Partly I just wanted to verify its existence before I bought a new one, and I was also curious about the green-ness.

And now I'm confused. Here's what my t-case looks like; as you can see, I have only the forward sensor on the driver side. Yet, it's certainly an ADD, w/rear diff lock, w/ABS truck. Thoughts and ideas? What does each of the three sensors do?
    • fwd driver side (84222-35080): function?
    • rear driver side (84222-35090) green switch: function?
    • passenger side ($62 - 84222-35110) or ($73 - 84222-12010)*: function?

    * is there a difference in these (passenger side) switches besides price? Both are labelled as "84222" in this diagram

    4 run, 2 don't
Vertical down, 6013, and very fast since its 3/32" rod and burns really fast

    20211214_103749.jpg

At 80amps on 1/8" steel I'm surprised how flat this laid down.

    No undercut whatsoever

Camera doesn't capture just how concave and flat the weld is inside the seam. It doesn't bulge and the camera gives it the illusion that it does.

Ugh. Upper control arms don’t just unbolt themselves. Gf took her trailblazer in for a clunk in April, they replaced all the LCAs. We found loose upper control arm bolts last week, and now they just want to replace both ucas.

can’t help but be super suspicious- either they loosened the uca bolts, or they didn’t notice that was the problem in the first place.

Probably should just diy some new bushings in there.

    • fwd driver side (84222-35080): 4WD
    • rear driver side (84222-35090) green switch: Neutral
    • passenger side ($62 - 84222-35110) or ($73 - 84222-12010)*: 4LO (I could have this and the 4WD switches mixed up but that's what they are for)

Thanks. Why do some cases have the Neutral switch and others don't?

This is correct. I’ve never actually seen a manual trans truck that used a harness in the neutral spot. The FSMs usually mention the neutral switch with “A/T” next to it. So @turbodb doesn’t need to buy the green harness.

Auto trans and electronic cases need it I know that, maybe locker vehicles too?

That would be the answer. M/T doesn't need a neutral switch since you can't shift into 4LO without depressing the clutch pedal. A/T does need it to make sure you aren't trying to shift into 4LO while still in Drive.

Interesting thing is, I don't use the neutral switch on my A/T 4Runner with the FJ tcase. I still have to shift to neutral to get it into 4LO. So it's something to do with how the 4WD computer does things. I've essentially eliminated that in the 4Runner with my swap.

It's 90% just for the safety feature of not taking the key out while case is in neutral and trans is in park... turns on the A/T P light to warn you the vehicle will still roll.

Yeah all this extra stuff on the 4WD trucks I’ve sort of ignored because it didn’t apply to me during the 4WD conversion. My 3 plugs simply all tell the 4WD dash indicator to light up and nothing else.

Yup, that's all mine do now as well. Just 4WD and 4LO, no N indicator light.

I'm so lost... what solid color do I paint my truck cab? The missus loves the idea of turning it into a flat bed (cause it'll be easier for loading/unloading pallet(s) of parts when we have a shop) and if I'm using it for business I'm not going wild with the snow camo vinyl lol.

But I don't know what to paint the cab :pout:

I'll also need a new driver's door and fender whenever I get there but I like putting the cart before the horse whenever I can
