What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Well fellows I did something to mine no today but last Friday... SOLD it. Enjoyed the hell out of it in the almost 5 years i owned it but it was time for more room and a few more creature comforts. Got $1500 more than I paid for it so didn't do to bad. I have moved to the dark side!

One baby step at a time but it's happening. I got another coat of paint down today but it's a bit of a struggle keeping it warm enough to paint.

 

New bilstein 5100 up front with stock springs on second notch!

 

Let’s goo, bought a driver bucket seat and a center console. Ready for the bucket seat swap.

 

Friggen sucks... I know, I need to do some painting on my hood. Seems like the only time I have to do any of this stuff, really, is when it's cold.

 

I picked up a big propane heater last year before doing the frame treatment but that thing is louder than a 747 and the lowest setting is just a little too much

 

X2. My friend is a Toyota technician and he told me to stay away from the 3rd gens. ‍♂️

Got it out and about for the first time in 4ish years. Felt pretty good. So far my welds on the frame have held lol

What roll/light bar is that...super nice. I want to add that exact style to mine.

 

It's very McFly looking. I didn't know they still made them.

 

I got it off a toyota pickup in the middle of Kansas. Not really sure. I ended up painting it. I’m going for the mcfly look with my spin on it

 

I've always thought these pockets/bolt holes looked unfinished and dumb.



So, I figured out a way to cover them





Still need to finish wiring them. But it's dark, I'm cold, and that's about as much motivation as I have this evening.

 

I dig it! I've always wondered how those wheels would look on a first gen. Very clean

 

I’m a tech.. while I’m not the biggest fan of them, there still reliable trucks. Timing cover leaks suck and early trans issues do exist. But I’ve had quite. Few coming in around the 200k mark now. Usually fleet trucks beat to shit too

that being said, for a truck of their size, I’ll stick with my 1st gen tundra
