I couldn't agree more. There is an island out here down near @sdsurfer that has all these endangered species. Pigs were fucking them over and being an island (closed system) they wanted to eradicate them. They brought in professional hunters and put a huge effort into it, but they couldn't get the smartest ones. Then they'd breed. In the end they brought in domestic pigs and collared them (judas method). They'd go wild and join the boars. Only then, using gps, they got them all.

I'm involved in land management of some preserves and this subject comes up a lot. I always shut it down because it would be a waste of money unless we pig fence the entire preserve (huge effort), trap within it and hire professionals, and then frequently maintain the fences, which would be basically inpossible due to tge terrain and trees falling on them and restarting the cycle.

Pretty sure they have density-dependant litters? Just like coyotes. You kill half the females, the remaining ones double their litter size (basic concept).
