Yeah, if it is just a mini Tundra that would be disappointing IMO.

Saying hello here - moved to Ashburn back in May from Northern California. Drive a 2017 OR 6MT. Only aesthetic modifications so far (Proseur grille, blackout stickers for wheels, blacked out the other emblems, black tailgate lettering, Hydroflask cup holders inside, Husky Liners all weather floor mats, bed mat). Might be looking to change out the stock fog lights and add tint + those rain shield thingies that go at the top of the windows since I have a round-trip monthly to upstate NY so some additional creature comforts and safety/viz aspects to help on the drive - that and a CB/HAM radio and maybe a new shifter knob.

I got @EatSleepTacos takeoff LED fogs from his tundra and this are so much better than the 2017 stock fog lights. Obviously some aftermarket one could be better but if you can find some takeoffs for cheap it’s not a bad option.

Here's the black version of the ones I sold to Stephen. This is for a pair, so you only need quantity one.

Awesome thank you. I had looked into some after market options such as Rigid/Cali Raised/Baja Designs - are they comparable? As of now my primary use is for better lighting on freeway driving and I think the 3 brands I had searched were more off-road focused. I might get into some off roading in next couple of years, but probably some basic gravel roads / nothing crazy just to get a bit out into the wilderness and maybe camp.

Here’s the data on it. I would either recommend these or diode dynamics SS3 SAE fogs.

Born/raised in Santa Cruz (Scotts Valley). Was living in San Jose before we moved (also spent time in Sunnyvale and Foster City).

    What about you?

@northstream - I work in Sterling, so maybe we'll meet up sometime. If you see me, honk or something. Trucks kind of hard to miss.

On the foglights, if you have some spare coin, the Morimoto XB's are awesome LED fogs. I would sometimes foret to turn the head lights on that's how well they worked. Just sold the ones I took off the truck when the bumper went on.

Thanks! We had spent 1 year down in Stafford back in 2019 so we had been in NoVa a bit before but didn't know the Ashburn/Loudoun County area. Super excited to be here.

I will be taking you up on that offer for taco spots - that is one of the biggest things I miss from there (favorite spot is Tacos Moreno in Santa Cruz). When we were in SJ we were right by Santana Row so not far away from the Campbell/SJ border. Downtown Campbell was a nice little spot to go to.

With the status of my truck still unknown, I have nothing but time to recreate situations in my head. I'm no adjuster, know nothing about the valuation of this stuff. Last major accident was my Mustang a few years ago. I didn't think the damage was all that bad, but it ended up being a $23k bill and that was just from the bodyshop. Add in rental car expenses, diminished value, and reimbursement for some other things....

And this situation is no different. I go back and forth on what the determination on the Tacoma will be. The damage is undeniably extensive. But then I'm like, "I could still open the doors without hitting the fenders...." Which probably amounts to exactly nothing.

Soooo, I actually have a point/question. IF the truck is totaled, how will it be valued? NADA? KBB? Market? In my wildest dreams I'd love for market to be used for value. Oh yes. My wildest dreams..

Not really looking for an answer. Typing out loud and stuff.

Nada retail value (with a couple other factors) was close to what several large insurance companies used when I was an adjustor.

Oh. So your opinion of the status was an expert opinion?
