So, this TSB was for 2005-2008, right? Does anybody know how or whether they resolved this problem for the 2009 models? My '09 PreRunner has rear leaf springs with only 3 leaves. Just curious...

they'll make you suffer with it for another 8-9 months and then they will add you to the TSB. You should call the Customer Service number and complain. That probably helps to speed up the process. You could also try talking to your local service rep and explain to him that all the part numbers are the same, but he doesn't have to do anything.

They added the 2008 to the TSB around October 1st. Probably be right around then next year. Try to stay under 36000 miles before then.

Since this TSB has been a known issue for so long does anyone have an idea why they didn't fix the 2009s during production? My 2009 4x4 Sport v-6 access cab has the same 3-leaf rear end.

Most people don't get it done. Most people go for unloaded ride quality.

OK, that makes a little more sense. It is sort of an optional TSB depending on the owner's use and preference. I have to say I am happy with the ride as is and will usually not haul anything heavier than some mountain bikes and kayaks. But if the occassional heavy load of lumber and time cause these springs to sag, I won't be happy. I guess I'll see how it goes. In any case a set of leaf springs is not a huge expense or difficult job to do down the road. I already have the good shocks with the sport package.

I have a 09 and had my TSB Done a month ago :D , you just have to tell them that you have the same part numbers on your 2009 and you have a "HARSH RIDE" , and be cool about it dont be to aggresive when you go to them, i bought my truck a month and a half ago, the 4 leaf springs are so much better , it helps if you take the TSB form with you and show them
